Special Education Stipend. For the 2021-22 school year, the state mandated five percent (5%) Special Education stipend will remain at seven percent (7%) for all certified staff eligible to receive such stipend. (2020)
Special Education Stipend. This stipend is for Special Education teacher with a Special Education endorsement on their Kansas Teaching License, providing services and is responsible for writing Individual Education Plans (IEP) for students in the district. Special Education Stipend. There are multiple factors (i.e., complexity of IEPs, number of multiple IEP meetings, length of meetings, lack of preparation time during the instructional day, and the severity of disabilities) that have increased the demands placed on unit members working on the teacher’s salary schedule over the last several years. Unit members assigned to special education full-time and compensated on the teacher’s salary schedule I, PY, and PS shall receive an annual stipend. (See certificated salary schedule) In addition, for those unit members assigned to special education working in a K to age 22 program that provides direct instruction and do not have preparation time, shall receive the greater stipend. (See salary schedule) All unit members assigned to special education shall be compensated with an annual stipend that will be paid monthly and be based on their full-time equivalent (FTE). Special Education Stipend. An annual stipend as indicated on the attached Schedule, Appendix 7 will be paid to teachers of Special Education programs including Professional Employees whose primary assignment is within the Gifted program. The granting of this stipend will not be limited by those maximum salaries as indicated on the adopted salary schedules.
Special Education Stipend. Special education teachers will be paid at the rate of $10 per hour for special education staffings which are held outside the normal school day as defined by Section 9.2.
