Special Duty Pay. (A) High Work Differential. When an employee is required to perform work more than twenty (20) feet directly above the ground or water and use of safety ropes, scaffolds, boatswain chairs or other similar safety devices are required for support, the employee shall receive a high work differential. Rate: One dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per hour.

Special Duty Pay. Special Duty shall be defined as any time off-duty personnel are being compensated to cover public events (i.e. football games, festivals, public gatherings, public relation engagements) as required by a government agency or at the request of the event organizer, for additional fire and/or EMS coverage or appearances that cannot be handled by the on-duty personnel at the time of the event. This time worked shall be compensated in accordance with the overtime section of this Article.
