Spare Drivers. Spare driver shifts will consist of those vacancies for which regular drivers (those in posted positions) are unavailable under the district assignment processes. These may be 2 or 3 hour shifts. In the case of predictable 3 hour shift vacancies, exceeding five (5) days, these will be offered to regular drivers. Assignments will include regular route vacancies that result from absences for reasons such as: ⮚ Illness ⮚ personal leave of absenceadditional work assignments Spare drivers will also be assigned to extra work of a 2-hour duration that conflicts with regular posted shifts. Employees with their name on the spare call-out list are agreeing to be available for the above-described work unless they state a specific restriction that is agreed upon by the employer.

Spare Drivers. 23.01 A spare driver is an employee who is assigned by the Company to cover vacant routes and regular routes that may be down due to an emergency or where a regular driver is absent for whatever reason.
Spare Drivers. A. Spare Drivers will be assigned at the discretion of the Director of Bus Operations. There shall be no required reassignment if a subsequent route becomes available. The regular and ordinary compensation for the two (2) Spare Drivers shall be six and one quarter (6 ¼) hours per day. When not driving a school bus, a Spare Driver can be required to perform other assignments.
Spare Drivers. Seniority List (as defined in Article 17.2B) A spare driver must work at least one run in a 60 calendar day period to retain that two (2) month (60 day seniority), providing work was available. Any spare driver who acquires a regular permanent run moves to the regular driver seniority list and continues to accumulate seniority.

Spare Drivers. Employees who do not hold a permanent position shall hold seniority amongst themselves. Such seniority shall commence from the day and hour of hire. Spare drivers seniority will always be below that of permanent drivers. When more than one driver completes their driver training course at the same time, the drivers shall draw lots to determine their permanent placement on the spare drivers seniority list. Any people completing their training course that already have a class 2 license shall draw lots prior to people who do not have a class two license. Lots shall be numbered pieces of paper put into a container. The number of pieces of paper shall equal the number of people completing the training class. The person who draws lot #1 shall go on the spare drivers list first, then the person who draws lot #2 etc. For a person who does not have a class 2 license, they shall be required to pass their first class 2 driving exam to be entitled to exercise their lot seniority placement on the spare drivers seniority list. If the person fails the class 2 exam, they shall be placed on the bottom of the spare drivers seniority list on the date they pass the exam.
Spare Drivers. Any employee who does not sign for an A.M. and P.M. school run may be called upon when the regular drivers in this classification are not available. Spare employees, after September 4, 1986, under this Agreement, will be defined as an employee who does not meet the conditions of a full time regular employee. Seniority for casual employees acquired up to September 4, 1986, will be credited to the employee. All Spare employees will be entitled to seniority rights prorated according to the amount of time worked annually as at June 30th. 8.5 Where two (2) or more employees commence work on the same day, then they shall be shown on the seniority list in alphabetical order.
Spare Drivers. (a) The Company shall have a minimum of two (2) spare drivers who will be trained to operate the necessary equipment to provide relief for short term vacancies.
