Solid Waste Management. General. The Airport is required by city ordinance to achieve a solid waste recycling rate of 75% by 2012 and 100% by 2020. Tenants are required to cooperate with the Airport to maximize the rate of solid waste recycling and source separation. Airport’s Work. The Airport will supply specially designed solid waste containers for depositing paper, bottles and cans, and general trash in the public areas of the terminal including Tenant public areas. The Airport will provide waste containers for public disposal of food waste and compostable serviceware in the vicinity of Food and Beverage leaseholds. Tenant’s Work. Tenants are required to collect the solid waste generated in back offices in containers designated for paper, bottles& cans, and general trash and deposit the content of each container in the designated bins at collection areas. All Food and Beverage Concessions are required to collect food waste and compostable serviceware in separate containers and deposit the contents in designated compostable materials bins at collection areas.
Solid Waste Management. The Contractor is responsible to manage solid waste in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws. The Contractor shall follow Battelle’s Standards Based Management System requirements for accumulation, interim storage and final disposal of the following types of solid waste:

Each individual Development Agreement Compliance Permit shall provide clear direction on who will provide solid waste service for each building and each building will be designed accordingly. Stream Buffers. Development design and construction shall comply with the stream buffer requirements contained in LUMO Sections 3.6.3 Resource Conservation District and 5.18 Jordan watershed riparian buffer protection. The Developer Owners, Parcel Owners or the Representative retain the right to appeal stream classifications to a final determination.

Solid Waste Management a. Maximizing Composting, Recycling and Reuse: MassDEP is forging a 21st century approach to solid waste using strategies such as source reduction, recycling, composting, and reuse that minimize the amount of waste generation and maximize the amount of materials that are returned to productive commerce. The end result reduces to the maximum extent feasible the amount of waste disposed. MassDEP will continue to further expand recycling and materials re-use which in turn will help xxxxxx growth in green jobs statewide.
