Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detectors Clause Examples

The Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Detectors clause requires that the property is equipped with functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in accordance with applicable laws or regulations. Typically, this clause specifies the party responsible for installing, maintaining, or certifying the detectors—often the seller or landlord—and may require proof of compliance before occupancy or closing. Its core function is to ensure the safety of occupants by reducing the risk of harm from fire or carbon monoxide exposure, and to clarify legal responsibilities regarding these essential safety devices.
