Skills Development Scotland. A regional approach to the management and delivery of agreed learning programmes will enhance accessibility for learners and generate efficiencies in programme management. Currently, the three Glasgow colleges manage a significant volume of programmes on behalf of employers across a range of industry sectors. The colleges will continue to provide these services to employers in a manner that meets employer demand and in line with individual college plans within the framework of the Regional Outcome Agreement. Overall, the regional colleges expect modest growth in Modern Apprenticeships and the Employability Fund. The Foundation Apprenticeship numbers will increase significantly, reflecting the fact that the programme is relatively new and existing numbers are low. Gaelic language ambitions and current provision Xxxxxxx Xxxxxx College is the sole provider of full-time Gaelic courses in mainland Scotland. This provision is a relatively small volume (approximately 300 Credits), but currently meets regional applicant demand. To promote Gaelic provision, the other Glasgow region colleges direct any potential Gaelic learners to Xxxxxxx Xxxxxx College. In addition, Xxxxxxx Xxxxxx regularly reviews its provision and this includes the potential to offer mainstream, vocational subjects in Gaelic medium, dependent on demand. Extending provision to meet the demands of adult Gaelic learners who want to be able to use their Gaelic language skills in a variety of learning situations would support achievement of the aims of the NGLP to 'normalise Gaelic'. Foreign Language Skills Students at City of Glasgow College are able to gain the employability benefits of learning languages in the tourism vocational context. Four cohorts (80+) students of NC Travel and Tourism level 5 and 6 study three single credit units, choosing three languages from French, German , Italian and Spanish. HND Travel and Tourism students (100+) take a triple credit unit in both first and second year, chosen from French, German, Spanish or Italian. Students take SQA units at the appropriate level. Language learning focusses on practical skills for the work place, with an emphasis on the spoken language. Cultural awareness and business practices form part of the curriculum. The Glasgow Caledonian University and City of Glasgow College languages collaboration entails c. 400 students in each academic session taking their languages modules at degree level in French, German Italian Spanish and Mandarin City...
Skills Development Scotland. Skills Development Scotland (SDS) agrees to collaborate with Creative Scotland and its partner agencies on the delivery of Screen Scotland and to play a full part in its governance and work to fulfil its shared strategy. SDS will support skills development in the screen sector through the development of Foundation and Modern Apprenticeship frameworks, where there is significant employer demand. This will better enable screen sector businesses to engage in skills planning and development activity, assisting them to meet their projected business and inclusive growth ambitions. Skills Development Scotland has co-funded with Creative Scotland research into industry skills demands across Scotland’s screen sector company base and freelance workforce, which will provide the evidence base from which Screen Scotland will develop and deliver a new Screen Skills Strategy for Scotland. We will participate in the Screen Scotland Skills Working Group supporting the development of work-based learning across the sector.

  • Skills Development The Company acknowledges the changing pace of technology in the electrical contracting industry and the need for employees to understand those changes and have the necessary skill requirements to keep the Company at the forefront of the industry. The Parties to this Agreement recognise that in order to increase the efficiency, productivity and competitiveness of the Company, a commitment to training and skill development is required. Accordingly, the parties commit themselves to:

  • Research and Development (i) Advice and assistance in relation to research and development of Party B;

  • Staff Development ‌ The County and the Association agree that the County retains full authority to determine training needs, resources that can be made available, and the method of payment for training authorized by the County. Nothing in this subsection shall preclude the right of an employee to request specific training.

  • Faculty Development Faculty who develop and/or teach Distance Education courses shall be provided with reasonable technical support and opportunities for Faculty development, consistent with the needs of the Faculty and availability of Board resources and services for that purpose. In the event that a Faculty member develops and/or teaches a Distance Education course for the first time, the Faculty member shall receive reasonable and appropriate professional development and technical support assistance, consistent with the needs of the Faculty and availability of Board resources and services for that purpose. In instances of succeeding assignments to teach Distance Education courses, the Faculty member is expected to demonstrate a level of technical competence sufficient to teach the course. Ongoing technical support assistance may be available to Faculty who teach succeeding offerings of the same course.

  • Job Development Job development/placement is individualized and shall include weekly person-to-person job search assistance, assistance with identifying job leads, interview coaching and support, and maintaining a log of job search activities for the purposes of obtaining competitive integrated employment. By mutual consent of the consumer and the KARINA ASSOCIATION, INC. , these services may be provided in-person or by Skype, FaceTime, or other online communication tools. Job development/placement may also include arranging job trials/job shadowing for individuals with a DORS Trial Work Experience Plan, assistance with completing applications, assistance with employer follow-up after interviews, use of personal employment networks in job search, and resume update. It would include time spent calling employers, visiting and educating employers and similar activities. Job development/placement shall not be paid for using supported employment funding and shall not include the Discovery process, which is pre-vocational in nature and may be completed prior to job development. Up to 60 hours for job search assistance, authorized in 20-hour increments, may be used for job development. Additional hours of job development may be requested and require written justification by KARINA ASSOCIATION, INC. and approval of the DORS regional/program director. Authorizations for Job Development. DORS only pays for job development services which have been previously authorized by a DORS official. Job Development Reporting. The Employment Service Progress Form is expected to be submitted to DORS on a monthly basis per consumer. This form is available on the DORS website (xxx.xxxx.xxxxxxxx.xxx).

  • Curriculum Development This includes the analysis and coordination of textual materials; constant review of current literature in the field, some of which are selected for the college library collection, the preparation of selective, descriptive materials such as outlines and syllabi; conferring with other faculty and administration on curricular problems; and, the attendance and participation in inter and intra-college conferences and advisory committees.

  • Staff Development Leave (a) An employee shall be granted leave without loss of pay, at her basic rate of pay, to take courses (including related examinations), conferences, conventions, seminars, workshops, symposiums or similar out-of-service programs, at the request of the Employer. The amount of pay received by an employee shall not exceed the full-time daily hours of work as outlined in Article 14.2. When such leave is granted, the Employer shall bear the full cost, including tuition fees, entrance or registration fees, laboratory fees, and course-related books. The Employer shall also reimburse the employee for approved travelling, subsistence, and other legitimate, applicable expenses.

  • Policy Development 2.2.1 LIDDA shall develop and implement policies to address the needs of the LSA in accordance with state and federal laws. The policies shall include consideration of public input, best value, and individual care issues.

  • Program Development NWESD agrees that priority in the development of new applications services by XXXXX shall be in accordance with the expressed direction of the XXXXX Board of Directors operating under their bylaws.
