Significance of the Study. The current study is significant in a number of ways. First of all, by investigating the impact of the level of women in the workforce on the economic growth of Kuwait, and consequently by applying the anticipated results of the model designed to test such impact, the thesis attempts to provide insights of the impact of women level of participation on the overall economy of the state of Kuwait. This would add to the existing research. Second, the thesis’s examining of whether a U-shaped or positive relationship exists between the level of women employment and economic growth in Kuwait should help decision makers to reconsider the socio-economic structure of Kuwait. Third, by supplementing econometric modeling, the thesis provides insight into the views of knowledgeable people on the impact of the low level of women employment on the Kuwait economy. An area that would add to the quantitative data collected.
Significance of the Study. Given the dynamism and increasingly competitiveness of the business environment, organizations and institutions need to remain competitive for them to survive in the long- run. This study was crucial in understanding the motivation of strategic alliance between JKUAT and middle level colleges. The study is again important to JKUAT and other higher institutions that may plan to form strategic alliances as it can guide managers on how to manage them to avoid instability and the consequent high cost of crisis and rivalry that may occur. This study is a contribution to research in the area of strategic management in education and training in Kenya and the finding from this study is useful in the education sector as whole. The government and policy makers in education sector can make use of the findings to streamline such engagements to ensure that they are well run for the benefit of all stakeholders including the customers (students). The findings from this study go towards filling an existing information gap, while other institutions can make use of them to xxxxxx into strategic usefulness in the high education sector. This study will also be a point of reference for further research in the area of strategic alliance. CHAPTER TWO: LITERATURE REVIEW
Significance of the Study. The study aims to find out how teachers perceive their own autonomy in different types of schools, and whether it has any influence on their job satisfaction and motivation. As the new “Law on the Status of Teachers” is being currently developed in Kazakhstan, one of its main goals will be to provide teachers with adequate autonomy, which has not been mentioned in previous official documents by the XxXX of Kazakhstan. Currently, as this study is being done, the law is in its development stage and the term ‘teacher autonomy’ is only mentioned as a chapter title. In order to understand and improve the process of policy implementation, it is important to listen to what teachers have to say about the issue, as they are the “key actors in realising” these policies (Xxxxxxxxx, 2015, p.75). This study may offer an insight on how teachers see and understand autonomy and what kind of autonomy should be provided to ensure that they are satisfied with their jobs and motivated to stay in schools. School principals might also benefit from this study, as it may provide them with an action framework if they are willing to keep their teachers motivated to work and develop professionally. Even though there are commonly accepted definitions of what teacher autonomy is, it is important to know that the understanding of the concept and its perception may differ not only from country to country, but from one type of school to another. This study might help school administrators and policy-makers understand what ‘teacher autonomy’ is in terms of Kazakhstani teachers’ perceptions. More importantly, there is hardly any study on teachers’ autonomy in the context of Kazakhstan. Therefore this study may contribute to literature on this important topic.
Significance of the Study. The study gave birth to a new strategic method of expanding ones business venture and promote profits and cost management. The success of this research work will significantly have an impact to the protit management of ABS VIDEO RENTAL STORE Lagos Ikeja. Also, this research work will serve as a reference material to the fellow researcher, academic students and others as a reference study guide.
Significance of the Study. This study contributes to understanding the connections between Indigenous heritage institutions and communities in the Caribbean context, moving away from the tourism- oriented framework in which museum collections are marketed. It explores the nature of Indigenous heritage collections in the Dominican Republic and the creation of these collections. The study evaluates the access to the collections beyond the current tourism framework. Museological practices that place community participation at the heart of their approach can expand an institution’s capacity to carry out educational and preservation initiatives (Xxxxxx 2007). This study provides future scholars with a foundational reference to help deepen their knowledge of Indigenous heritage institutions and their role for the educational, heritage, governmental, and local communities served by museums. The research offers practical suggestions for developing and incorporating critical museology approaches to the creation of community connections with Indigenous heritage institutions in the Dominican Republic. The present research may also assist heritage managers and public officials in improving how heritage education programs are designed to make the collections more relevant to the communities they aim to serve. Under ideal conditions, this effort would call for a unified approach at the managerial and even legislative levels. The information obtained and analyzed in this study can help in adapting various resources from different organizations’ structures, budgets, and personnel capacities to facilitate access between heritage collections and communities, starting at the most basic levels. Future researchers can also use this study to identify patterns in community involvement that may further demonstrate the value of critically framing heritage institutions’ efforts to improve preservation initiatives.
Significance of the Study. The results of the study would contribute to the higher education system in Kazakhstan, as administrators, managers, and faculty members may be provided with the current emotional intelligence level of undergraduate students from the two institutions. The fact that these two universities are located in two different cities of the country would demonstrate a bigger picture and more reliable results. Therefore, other higher education institutions may use the findings of the current research study in order to facilitate students’ emotional intelligence level inserting related activities in their curricula. Additionally, the results of the research study can be of use for teachers and educators to analyze which non-academic factors may influence students’ academic achievement positively or negatively. Definitions of the Concepts Emotional Intelligence – Xxxxxxx, and Xxxxx (1990) proposed such definition of emotional intelligence as “… the subset of social intelligence that involves the ability to monitor one's own and others' feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them and to use this information to guide one's thinking and actions” (p.189). Based on Xxxxxxx and Xxxxx, in this research study, the definition of emotional intelligence is the capability of an individual to understand their own emotions and emotions of others, as to use this knowledge in maintaining their cognitive thinking and social actions. Academic Achievement – “…defined as the level of actual accomplishment or proficiency one has achieved in an academic area, as opposed to one's potential in the educational goals measured by examinations” (Xxxxxxxx & Xxxxx, 2013, p. 103). In this research study, students’ self-reported academic achievement percentage has been used. Benefits of the Study The research study aims at identifying emotional skills correlated with individuals’ cognitive abilities; it would encourage universities’ psychologists to work with students in order to increase specific EI skills and develop their academic achievement. This study would also be of importance for educators and lecturers of higher education institutions in order to analyze students’ academic strengths and weaknesses through their particular EI competencies and skills. Alternatively, these research findings would be of interest for employers, so that they may be aware of future specialists’ overall emotional intelligence level and its connection with their analytical skills. This chapter provides an overv...
Significance of the Study. According to a recent study, adolescents' self-esteem suffers when they perceive contrasting values, for instance, at home and school (Xxxxxx, Xxxxxxx, and Xxxxx-Xxxx 2016). We do not fully grasp the extent to which parents and educators nurture similar values in children. Therefore, most importantly, the present study will assist school administrators and parents in comprehending and obtaining a broader understanding of the values taught at the school. They will be able to get a closer look at the kind of values that the school and parents promote, allowing them to offer exceptional programs. The current research is crucial in developing the importance of values and their impact on a student's development as a future member of society. By examining parents’ attitudes toward values taught at school and why parents choose that particular VBE school, the principals and teachers in VBE schools will be able to update the curriculum and school activities, inculcating values, which are prioritized by both sides, parents and school administration. The in-depth understanding of the values taught at school from the perspective of parents will provide useful information, which can be used by policymakers and educational practitioners in Kazakhstan and in the process of the development of a nationwide curriculum. Thus, the process of discussing, outlining, and making public values is one that schools and other educational institutions face extremely difficult. The diversity of values in the communities they serve, which are also changing, as well as in society in general, as well as the realistic expectations of interested parties, must be taken into consideration by schools. They must focus on the reason, appropriateness, and coherence of their values and analyze how they are reflected in their objectives, curriculum offerings, and activities (Xxxxxxxx & Xxxxxx, 1996, p.9).
Significance of the Study. All secondary teachers, school leaders and the research participants who work in the Southeast Asian context may benefit from my study because the findings could help them contemplate the existing problems in their educational settings, provide them with some insights on the motivation behind teacher collaboration and possibly even inspire them to form a PLC at their schools. Malaysian policy-makers and educational managers are also the potential beneficiaries because PLC is listed as one of the important indicators in the MEB that is to be achieved by 2025 in the professional development of teachers. They therefore could draw upon my findings, especially as some new aspects to teacher collaboration are revealed, to update their school professional development programmes which aim to improve teachers’ competency by means of collaborative learning. Although there are many studies on PLC and teachers’ collaboration in various educational contexts in Malaysia, only a handful has been conducted in private schools and in Sabah, Malaysia. Thus, my research might add to the academic body of knowledge for the region. Upon having read a fair amount of literature and pondered my experience of collaboration with my colleagues at school, I came to the conclusion that collaboration is a complex activity due to various factors; it has myriad layers, such as human, social and cultural among others, which might not always be visible in the beginning. It is therefore important to investigate, especially in as many contexts as possible, because every context and setting most likely has disparate factors affecting collaboration among teachers. In the future, I intend to do more action research into the topic and be more empathetic when encountering obstacles during collaborations.
Significance of the Study. As we move deeper into the 21st century, we find ourselves at a transition point in the field of education. The full implementation of the Common Core and its focus on preparing students for college and career is causing educators to rethink our education system at the state, district, and school site levels. The same systems, programs, curricula, and instruction that have brought us success or challenges in the past may not work in the Common Core era. To truly prepare students for 21st century careers, we need to go beyond simple solutions such as test preparation to new approaches in teaching and learning to ensure that students are engaged in the process (Trilling, 2009). In the 1990s, California worked with the adoption of State Standards and had to rethink our educational system to meet the diverse needs of our students to ensure their economic and career success. Once again, in the 21st century, we are exploring new ways to implement educational practices. Definitions of Terms A-G course requirements: Specific courses required to be completed and passed with a grade of C or better by the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems. Advanced Placement (AP): College-level course designed to prepare students to take and pass the content area prep course they are enrolled in. A score of three on the exam is required to receive elective credit. A score of four or five provides the student with college credit for that specific course. American College Test (ACT): Standardized test used to determine a high school graduate’s preparation for college-level work. The test examines the content areas of English, math, reading and science. California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP): California’s statewide student assessment system composed of several types of tests and performance indicators to monitor student achievement in grades 3-12 (California Department of Education, 2015).
Significance of the Study. Climate change has been one of the topical issues globally. The call for climate change adaptation and mitigation has led to the formation of climate change regime which includes the recent Paris climate Agreement. This Agreement, which seeks to cut down on emissions through sector regulations, omitted the international maritime transportation sector responsible for a significant amount of global CO2 emissions from the regulations. It is, therefore, imperative in the light of the above that studies be conducted to ascertain the factors that led to the exclusion of international maritime transport from emission regulation in the Paris Agreement. The findings of the study could serve as a basis of information for countries and international organizations in policymaking decisions about emissions regulations and climate change policy in general. The study will also add to the body of literature on international climate regimes as well as international maritime transportation. This will serve as the basis for future research to academics, researchers and scholars.
