Sick Pay Defined. For the purpose of this Section, sick pay shall mean pay at the employee's regular classification rate for those days and hours which the employee would have worked had the disability not occurred, calculated at straight-time.

Sick Pay Defined. Eligible sick leave hours shall be considered the average number of hours of work the employee is usually scheduled and shall be compensated on an “hours worked” basis. Hours worked for the purpose of this section shall be the hours paid for regular time, sick leave, holidays, vacations, but excluding overtime hours. Employees who failed to work the full year shall be entitled to sick leave on the basis set forth above on a pro rata of total hours worked or paid for during the year preceding the anniversary date as a ratio to two thousand eighty (2,080) hours. If a holiday occurs during a period of paid sick leave, the employee, if otherwise eligible, shall receive holiday pay and such day shall not be charged to sick leave credits.
Sick Pay Defined. For the purpose of this Article, full pay shall mean eight (8) hours' (full-time employee) pay at the employee's regular straight time rate for those days which the employee would have worked had the disability not occurred.

  • Key Definitions As used herein, the following terms shall have the following respective meanings:

  • EMPLOYEE DEFINED As used in this Section, "employee" means any person holding a regular, provisional, or temporary appointment in the County service, and otherwise subject to the provisions of this Memorandum of Understanding.

  • Seniority Defined Seniority is defined as the total length of service in the bargaining unit as an employee, regardless of occupational change. Seniority shall be used as one of the factors in determining preference or priority for promotion, transfers, demotions, terminations and layoff caused by force reductions and recall. Seniority shall operate on a bargaining unit wide basis.

  • Overtime Definition Overtime shall be defined as being all hours worked in excess of the normal or standard work day, or in excess of the normal or standard work week. The overtime rate shall be one and one-half (1½) times the regular straight time hourly rate of pay. NOTE: Article 16.04 is applicable to full-time employees only.

  • Immediate Family Defined For the purpose of this Section, "Immediate Family" is defined as the employee's spouse, domestic partner, child, stepchild, grandchild, parent/step-parent, brother, sister, grandparent or spouse's, child, stepchild, grandchild, parent/step-parent, brother, sister or grandparent.
