SICK LEAVE/RETIREMENT. A teacher, upon retirement, shall receive compensation for unused sick leave in accordance with TRS procedures at a rate of 30%. This amount, less applicable deductions, shall be paid to the teacher in a lump sum payment at the time all checks are available, but no later than July 1. This settlement shall be added to the last annual salary of the teacher and so reported to the Retirement Board.
SICK LEAVE/RETIREMENT. 3.1.8.1 Upon retirement, after February 1, 2011, members will be compensated at the rate of $100 for each accumulated leave day.
SICK LEAVE/RETIREMENT. Each full year employee shall be credited with sick leave with pay at the rate of twelve (12) days per year. Each school year employee shall be credited with sick leave with pay at the rate of ten (10) days per year. Xxxx leave credit will begin the first day of the month in which the employee is employed, the first working day of that month. Sick leave shall be accumulated without limit. Any accumulation which present employees have at the effective date of agreement shall retain such accumulation. Sick leave shall be granted for sickness or injury. The employer shall not make it a general policy to request medical evidence of illness for periods of absence of less than three (3) consecutive days. Any request for medical evidence for absences of less than three (3) days shall be made on an individual basis. The absence of a unit member for reasons of pregnancy and delivery of a child (not post-natal care of child) shall be deemed to be absence because of illness, and the right to leave of absence therefor shall be determined by the provisions of this article.
SICK LEAVE/RETIREMENT. All leave requested will be submitted in advance in writing. Leave requests will designate type of leave requested and the duration of the leave request if known. Leave requests will be submitted to the building principal. In case of emergency, leave requests may be made by phone call to the building principal, provided that all necessary information that would be provided on written requests is provided at the time of the call. Upon return to work a written request providing the information of the phone call request must be submitted. All Full-time employees covered by this Agreement (those who work 25 hours per week on a 12 month basis) shall accumulate 1 and 1/12 sick leave day per month not to exceed 13 days per year, with a maximum of 174 days accumulation. All school year employees shall accumulate 5 sick leave days per semester not to exceed 10 days per year with a maximum of 174 days accumulation. Ten Month employees will receive 1 additional sick day per year, to 11 days per year total. Up to sixty (60) days of earned and accumulated sick leave shall be paid to the employee on the last payday of service (provided the employee has had five [5] years of continuous service with the district); payable sick leave to be paid at the prevailing hourly rate of pay for the AFSCME employee at the time of retirement. Retirement will be defined as stipulated in the Michigan Public School Employee's Retirement Act. In the event of the death of the Employee, payable sick leave will be paid to the Employee's beneficiary. In the event of absence of an Employee for illness in excess of two consecutive workdays, the Board may, at its expense, require the examination by an independent physician. It is understood by both parties that sick leave may be taken for illness on the part of the Employee, doctor appointment, and illness in the immediate family (immediate family to be defined as spouse, children, parents, mother-in-law and father- in-law), and for no other reasons. The Board of Education reserves the right to determine whether the absence for illness was bona fide and at its discretion, may require a doctor's statement.
SICK LEAVE/RETIREMENT. 39 40 A teacher shall receive compensation for unused sick leave according to the following 41 formula: Number of sick days times the last yearly salary, divided by number of workdays 42 times .30. This amount will be paid to the teacher in a lump sum payment at the time all 43 checks are available, but no later than July 1. This settlement shall be added to the last annual 44 salary of the teacher and so reported to the Retirement Board. This policy shall become 45 effective July 1, 1981.
SICK LEAVE/RETIREMENT. Any employee who retires or whose position is eliminated and who has completed ten (10) consecutive years of employment with the City has the option to receive payment for one-half (1/2) of any accumulated but unused sick leave up to a maximum of six hundred (600) hours. The rate of pay shall be the regular hourly rate of pay at the time the position is vacated. Sick leave shall not be used to extend a date of retirement. An employee, upon retirement, may convert his/her unused sick leave balance to service credit as provided by Government Code Section 20965 (See 31.7). An employee may elect to convert all unused sick leave to service credit.

SICK LEAVE/RETIREMENT. A. Over the course of a school year, up to twenty-five (25) of the accumulated sick days may be used for illness in the immediate family. Immediate family shall include only spouse, children, parents of the employee or spouse, domestic partner or other legal dependents in the employee’s household.

Employees hired on or after July 1, 2010 will earn Sick Leave days under the following schedule:
SICK LEAVE/RETIREMENT. A. Members hired before July 1, 2011, who qualify and retire under the Virginia Retirement System or the Arlington County Retirement System after a minimum of five years of Arlington Public Schools service are paid for 50 percent of their accumulated sick leave, based on their hourly rate at the time of retirement. Payouts that exceed $2,500.00 shall be deposited in deferred compensation accounts established in the retiree’s name.
