Sick Leave Regulations. Teachers employed to teach continuously for a school term are full time employees and are entitled to one and one-fourth (1¼) days sick leave per month and cumulative to two hundred seventy (270) days. If a teacher has a serious health condition that makes him/her unable to perform the functions of his/her position and he/she wishes to take leave for this reason, he/she must first use his/her accrued sick leave and then use his/her accrued personal leave to do so. However, any days not covered by sick leave or personal leave will be unpaid.

  • Sick Leave Abuse ‌ When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation.
