Sick Leave Pay-Off. The Board will provide the following annual incentives for teachers that use little or no sick time beyond that for which they are obligated by (5) below. 0 days used = One (1) day’s pay (teacher’s salary divided by teacher work days) This incentive pay will not affect the accumulation of personal sick time of up to one hundred seventy (170) days. Upon retirement or death, after ten (10) years of continuous service with the School District, the Board agrees to pay thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per day for unused accumulated sick leave, up to one hundred seventy (170) days.

Sick Leave Pay-Off. All accumulated sick leave at the date of separation from City service shall be the basis for determining the amount to be paid to each employee who qualifies to receive sick leave pay-off. Only employees who have ten (10) or more continuous years of City service shall be eligible for sick leave pay-off upon separation from employment with the City. Employees with less than ten (10) years of continuous service shall not be eligible to receive any pay-off for unused sick leave. The rate of Sick Leave pay-off shall be calculated as follows: Three percent (3%) of accumulated sick leave per full year of service. Sick leave shall be calculated at the base rate of pay received by the employee at the time of his/her separation. Each employee eligible to receive sick leave pay-off shall receive said pay at the time of separation.
Sick Leave Pay-Off. Upon termination of employment by death or upon retirement in accordance with the provisions of the Public Employee’s Retirement Law, as amended; or separation, unless terminated for just cause, after ten (10) years of continuous employment with the Agency, an employee or their beneficiary may choose to receive payment for up to forty-five (45%) percent of employee’s accumulated sick leave for up to 1,040 hours (468 hours maximum pay off) computed on the basis of the hourly equivalent of such employee’s monthly salary as of the date of death, retirement or separation. An employee may accrue sick leave at the current rate above 1,040 hours, but hours in excess of 1,040 will not be eligible for the 45% pay-off.

For example, an employee with eighteen (18) full years of continuous City service at the time of separation would receive a pay-off for fifty-four percent (54%) of their accumulated sick leave.

Thirty (30) and over in years of service to Grass Lake Community School District: Sixty-five ($65.00) per day.
