Sick Leave Bank Participation. Name In order to participate in the Rossford Schools/TACT Sick Leave Bank (SLB), I understand that one (1) day of sick leave will be deducted from my accumulated sick leave balance and that I may be assessed at a later date for additional days. Understand that I am eligible to benefit from the SLB if and when there is a need. If days are withdrawn from the sick leave bank I will return the borrowed days to the bank after accumulating the required days. Each member applying for benefits from the SLB shall agree in writing as follows: “I specifically acknowledge and agree that the granting of days from the SLB shall be at the sole discretion of the SLB committee. All decisions of the SLB committee will be final and binding and are not subject to grievance. I further agree to abide by such decision and to indemnify and hold harmless the SLB committee, the Rossford Association of Classroom Teachers, and the Rossford Schools.” When an employee donates days to the SLB, he/she agrees to the state rules for administration of the SLB. This form must be returned to the Treasurer prior to September 30.   • Xxxx Leave Bank Section 1: A Sick Leave Bank will be established to relieve a Teacher from undue financial burdens as a result of an absence from work due to the Teacher’s illness, injury, or incapacitation sufficiently severe to make the performance of their duties impossible. A Teacher member of the Sick Leave Bank who has exhausted his or her personal leave and sick leave days shall be eligible to apply to the committee for an extension of sick leave benefits. Sick bank days shall not be granted beyond the period when a Teacher would or could be eligible to receive benefits of the School Corporation’s long- term disability program. Unused days in the Sick Leave Bank shall be carried forward to the following year.

  • Employee Participation The Employer will assist employees' participation in health promotion and health education programs. Health promotion and health education programs that have been endorsed by the Employer (Minnesota Management & Budget) will be considered to be non-assigned job-related training pursuant to Administrative Procedure 21. Approval for this training is at the discretion of the Appointing Authority and is contingent upon meeting staffing needs in the employee's absence and the availability of funds. Employees are eligible for release time, tuition reimbursement, or a pro rata combination of both. Employees may be reimbursed for up to one hundred (100) percent of tuition or registration costs upon successful completion of the program. Employees may be granted release time, including the travel time, in lieu of reimbursement.

  • Continued Participation If Contractor elects to defend the claim, the City may retain separate counsel to participate in (but not control) the defense and to participate in (but not control) any settlement negotiations.

  • Union Participation The Employer agrees not to interfere with the rights of the employees to become members of the Union and there shall be no discrimination, interference, restraint, or coercion by the Employer or any Employer representative against any employee because of Union membership or because of any employee activity officially sanctioned by this contract on behalf of the Union.

  • Sick Leave Credit ‌ All employees will be able to draw on a block of nine days' sick leave when they commence employment. If all or part of this block of sick leave is used it will be paid back as sick leave is accumulated. If an employee ceases employment and has a negative balance in sick leave credits, this amount will be deducted from his/her final paycheque.

  • Association Participation Employee Represented - The Board acknowledges the right of the Association's grievance representative to participate in the processing of a grievance at any level, and no employee shall be required to discuss any grievance if the Association's representative is not present.

  • Catastrophic Sick Leave Bank [a] The District will establish and manage a catastrophic sick leave bank from which eligible educators may draw leave under the conditions and restrictions outlined below. Teachers who wish to participate in the catastrophic sick leave bank program shall be required to contribute one (1) day of their available sick leave to the bank. This contribution must be made each year during the insurance open enrollment period, as designated by the District, by completing and submitting the appropriate form to the Human Resources Department. If the bank has a substantial balance of days remaining at the end of the academic year, the Association and District may agree to suspend the contribution requirement for one year. Any educator who did not previously participate in the bank but who desires to participate during the non- contribution year will be required to donate one (1) day to initiate eligibility by submitting the appropriate form to the Human Resources Department during the insurance open enrollment period, as designated by the District. [b] Only educators who have contributed to the bank and who have depleted their sick leave and personal leave balances shall be eligible to receive consideration for sick leave from the bank. [c] All requests for sick leave from the bank must be in writing and must be addressed to the Human Resources Director. Requests may be submitted and approved any time after the required sick leave has been contributed. The requests must include the reasons for the request, written verification from the attending physician indicating the nature and severity of the illness or health problem along with the projected recovery date, and the number of sick leave days requested. [d] Only severe, extended illness and catastrophic medical problems of an employee or immediate family member will be considered for leave withdrawals from the bank. Illness or medical problems of a short-term nature shall not be considered. Life-threatening illness or severe accidents requiring extended recovery periods will be given first priority. [e] Withdrawals from the bank for illness of the participating employee shall not exceed one hundred (100) leave days per employee during any four (4) year period. [f] Withdrawals from the bank for illness of an immediate family member shall not exceed twenty (20) days during any consecutive four (4) year period. For requests under this policy, immediate family members shall include husband, wife, son, daughter, father, mother, brother, sister, grandmother, and grandfather. In addition, exceptions may be considered by the Superintendent for other relatives or those who have virtually held the position of an immediate member of the family. [g] In all sick leave bank withdrawal requests, whether for the participating employee or for an immediate family member, the District reserves the right to approve requests, deny requests, or to approve only a portion of the leave days requested.
