Sick Leave Bank. 22.1 The purpose of this Sick Leave Bank is to provide a bank of sick leave hours from which a member may draw in case of extended absences due to illness/disability which renders the member incapable of working.

Sick Leave Bank. 1. A Sick Leave Bank shall be established for the purposes of aiding Members of the Bargaining Unit who have exhausted their accumulated sick leave through extended absence due to personal illness/disability or serious illness in the immediate family (immediate family and serious illness is defined in 3.1). The bank will contain unused sick days, which are voluntarily contributed by participating Members.
Sick Leave Bank. The purpose of the Sick Leave Bank is to provide a continuation of salary and benefits during times of serious, chronic illness or disability after the required number of temporary leave days has been used.
Sick Leave Bank. Any member of the bargaining unit who elects to participate in the Sick Leave Bank must contribute one day of the member's sick leave to the Sick Leave Bank in order to qualify for Bank membership. Such contributions must be made within 30 calendar days of the date the person begins employment or within 30 calendar days of a call for replenishment of the bank as provided in this Article 6:2. Whenever the number of days in the Sick Leave Bank on the first day of a new semester is less than one (l) times the number of members of the bargaining unit, the Committee shall notify all teachers within l0 calendar days. Any member of the bargaining unit who elects to continue participation in the Sick Leave Bank must contribute an additional day of the member's sick leave to the Sick Leave Bank within 30 calendar days from the date of notice. Teachers who are drawing days from the Sick Leave Bank at the time a call is made for replenishment of the bank will be continued as members of the bank. Teachers who have exhausted their current and accumulated sick leave at the time a call is made for replenishment of the bank will be continued as members of the bank provided they agree to contribute a day to the bank on the first day of the new school year next following. Teachers returning from authorized leave during the 30-day interval between the time a call is made for replenishment of the bank and the deadline for making a contribution will have 30 calendar days from the date their employment resumes to contribute to the bank. New hires and teachers returning from leave will be informed of the Sick Leave Bank by the Human Resources Office at the time of their orientation interview provided, however, that it shall be the responsibility of the teacher to report to the Human Resources Office for such orientation interview. Teachers who elect not to continue their membership in the bank may rejoin the bank by contributing one day of their accumulated sick leave to the bank within 30 calendar days of a call for replenishment of the bank as provided in this Article 6:2. Contributing members may apply for withdrawal from the Sick Leave Bank for reasons of prolonged or continuing illness or incapacitating accident of the contributing member in accordance with the Sick Leave Bank rules. Sick Leave Bank. A. Teachers on active duty in Xxxxxx County are eligible to contribute to a sick leave bank. Contributors will be permitted to apply for leave from the bank to cover regularly scheduled duty days for periods of personal illness, injury, or quarantine which are not only prolonged but are also catastrophic and incapacitating and which are not likely to permanently disable the teacher. New members of the sick leave bank may not access the bank until a 60 school-day waiting period has been met.

Sick Leave Bank. A voluntary sick leave bank shall be established whereby a certificated contracted school employee, who is absent from assigned duties due to personal illness and who has utilized all of his sick leave may petition a committee, as established herein, for sick leave days from the bank under the following conditions:
Sick Leave Bank. The purpose of sick leave bank benefits is to provide compensable leave coverage to teachers who are absent due to extended disability because of serious personal illness or injury. Teachers shall become eligible to receive sick leave bank benefits when they have been absent from work for ten (10) consecutive working days AND have exhausted all of their personal accumulated sick leave days. The requirement of being absent for ten (10) consecutive days is waived for individuals eligible for a FMLA or disability leave. The sick leave bank shall contain a maximum of 270 days. An eligible teacher shall receive the current contractual rate of pay while disabled for a period not to exceed 180 contracted teaching days, with committee review every forty five (45) school days. The sick leave bank committee will consist of three (3) representatives designated by the Association and two (2) representatives of the Board and the superintendent. In the case of a tie the issue will be heard by the full board of education. Application for sick leave bank benefits shall be made in writing to the sick leave bank committee through the Superintendent and shall include medical verification. The Superintendent shall convene the committee within five (5) work days. When a determination is made, the applicant will be informed in writing, with copies to the Superintendent, business manager and committee members. The administration office shall do all paperwork and record keeping. No eligible applicant will be denied the days that he/she has contributed. A record of each teacher's contribution shall be maintained by the administration office. The administration office shall furnish the association with a written statement at the beginning of each school year setting forth the total number of days in the sick leave bank and the number of sick leave days each member has contributed to the bank. The teacher shall pay back to the sick leave bank a minimum of three (3) days per year for each year worked until all days borrowed are repaid to the bank or the bank becomes full. Payment shall begin at the commencement of the school year that the teacher returns to work by deducting three (3) days from the teacher's yearly allotment for that year and from succeeding years until the amount borrowed is repaid.
