Sick Leave at Separation. A. After five (5) years of City service, when an eligible employee terminates his/her employment with the City due to resignation, retirement, disability, termination, or death, the employee shall receive a one-time recognition payment based upon the amount of unused sick leave remaining in his/her sick leave account. Employees will be paid for any unused sick leave at the rate of FIFTY PERCENT (50%) of his/her regular rate of pay.

Sick Leave at Separation. Upon separation from employment with the City, employees with more than five (5) years of continuous full-time City service, who voluntarily resign or are terminated for reasons other than with cause, any reason including disciplinary termination, will be paid for accrued sick leave at their base hourly rate at the time of separation as follows: Years of Service Percentage of 750 Hours Paid 11-15 Sixty-two- and one-half Percent (62.5%) 16-20 Seventy-five Percent (75%) 21+ One Hundred Percent (100%)

Sick Leave at Separation. With a minimum of four (4) months’ notice for retirement or one (1) months’ notice for resignation, or death, employees with more than fifteen (15) years of service will be compensated $50 for each day (7 hours) of accrued sick leave, up to a maximum of 100 days (700 hours), or $5,000.

The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.

  • Sick Leave Payoff Employee with accrued, unused sick leave may, at the time of separation, select one of the following options for reimbursement:

  • Sick Leave Separation Cash Out ‌ At the time of retirement from state service or at death, an eligible employee or the employee’s estate will receive cash for their compensable sick leave balance on a one (1) hour for four (4) hours basis. For the purposes of this Section, retirement will not include “vested out of service” employees who leave funds on deposit with the retirement system.

  • Sick Leave Policy It is the policy of the State of Ohio to not unreasonably deny sick leave to employees when requested. It is also the policy of the State to take corrective action for unauthorized use of sick leave and/or abuse of sick leave. It is further the policy of the State that when corrective and/or disciplinary action is taken, it will be applied progressively and consistently. It is the desire of the State of Ohio that when discipline is applied it will serve the purpose of correcting the performance of the employee.

  • Sick Leave Use Sick leave will be charged in one-tenth (1/10th) of an hour increments and may be used for the following reasons:

  • Sick Leave Payment Any employee, at his/her option may choose to receive payment for sick leave earned during the year which is unused at the end of the year. Any such payment must be for the total number of unused sick leave hours earned during the year, must be based on the hourly rate of pay of the employee multiplied by 50 percent, and all hours for which payment is received must be deducted from the employee’s accumulated leave balance. Sick leave used during a current year will be charged against the most recently earned sick leave. Hourly rate of pay is the hourly rate at the end of the contract year.

  • Sick Leave Benefits Sick leave is an indemnity benefit and not an acquired right. A Nurse who is absent from a scheduled shift on approved sick leave shall only be entitled to sick leave pay if the Nurse is not otherwise receiving pay for that day, and providing the Nurse has sufficient sick leave credits.

  • Sick Leave Donations Employees in the Unit as well as officers above the rank of sergeant and other non-bargaining unit employees in the Police Department may donate sick leave for the purpose of providing authorized sick leave to any Unit member who has exhausted all accrued annual, compensatory and sick leave. Sick leave means leave earned under Section A. of this Article. The procedures governing donation of sick leave followed in implementing the Sick Leave Donor Program established by the predecessor Agreement between the parties shall remain in effect, except as provided in Section P of this Article. Where the FOP has an established leave donation agreement with another bargaining unit within Xxxxxxxxxx County, the employer agrees to honor the agreement pursuant to the applicable contractual requirements of the bargaining unit and transfer sick leave as requested.
