Sick Benefits. 15.01 Eligible employees will receive Short Term Disability Benefits in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in the STD Plan Text, a copy of which has been supplied to the Union. The STD plan forms part of this Collective Agreement.

Sick Benefits. All regular employees after two months of continuous service must become and remain members of the T.T.C. Sick Benefit Association, which provides sick benefits in accordance with its By-laws. The By-laws of the Association will provide for the payment of benefits, for a normal period of up to 26 weeks. If an employee exhausts 26 weeks of benefits through the Association, application must be made for up to a further 15 weeks of benefits under the Employment Insurance Act of Canada. Applications for SBA benefits will be made on the appropriate form within 60 calendar days of the first day of the absence. If an employee cannot make an application within 60 calendar days, he or she may appeal to the SBA Board.
