SHORT-TERM ILLNESS AND INJURY AND LONG-TERM DISABILITY. Employees shall be entitled to coverage for short term illness and injury and long term disability in accordance with agreed upon regulations which will be subject to review and revision during the period of this Agreement by negotiations between the Parties and included as Appendix A to this Agreement.

SHORT-TERM ILLNESS AND INJURY AND LONG-TERM DISABILITY. Regular employees shall be entitled to coverage for short term illness and injury and long term disability in accordance with the regulations as outlined in Information Appendix "A" to this agreement. The Employer shall amend the regulations described under this Article and under Information Appendix "A" to this agreement to bring them into line with regulations in effect for the majority of unionized employees in the Public Service of British Columbia and such amendments will be incorporated into Appendix "A". The effective date(s) for such amendments will be the same as those implemented for the majority of unionized employees in the Public Service.

The first (1st) five (5) claims per year under the Short Term Illness and Injury Plan shall be covered from day one (1) of the claim. From the sixth (6th) claim on in each year, the first (1st) day of illness shall not be covered by STIIP. However, from the second (2nd) day onward of each claim, normal STIIP coverage shall apply.

SHORT-TERM ILLNESS AND INJURY AND LONG-TERM DISABILITY. Regular employees shall be entitled to coverage for Short Term Illness and Injury and Long Term Disability subject to the provisions of this Article. The Employer shall maintain coverage for Medical Services Plan (MSP), extended health benefits, dental care benefits, group life, accidental death and dismemberment, wage indemnity and long term disability and pension plan contributions and shall pay the Employer's share of these premiums while an employee is in receipt of benefits pursuant to the Short Term Illness and Injury and Long Term Disability Plans for a maximum of two (2) years from the initial date of commencement on Long Term Disability. Vacation entitlement and vacation pay for an employee on Short Term Illness and Injury shall continue to accrue while the employee is on leave. Vacation earned pursuant to this clause may be carried over to the following year. On return from leave, an employee shall be placed in his/her former position.
