A Shift Pay Differential clause establishes additional compensation for employees who work outside of standard business hours, such as evenings, nights, or weekends. Typically, this clause specifies the percentage or flat rate increase applied to an employee’s base pay for qualifying shifts, and may outline which roles or time periods are eligible for the differential. Its core function is to incentivize employees to work less desirable shifts and to fairly compensate them for the inconvenience or increased demands associated with non-standard working hours.
Shift Pay Differential. ‌ (a) An employee who is assigned and works two or more days in any work week to a schedule defined herein, shall receive shift pay differential. Full-time employees shall receive for such week one quarter of the monthly shift pay differential. Employees working at least a 50% but less than 100% assignment shall receive a percentage of the differential equal to that of the employee’s assignment. Hourly employees shall receive shift pay differential on an hourly basis if they are assigned and work the necessary two or more days on a schedule defined herein for each hour worked in such week. (b) One of the following shift differentials, whichever is the greater, shall be paid for work assignments as follows:

The provisions for Shift Differential Pay of the Lawton City Code Section 17-138 or as may hereafter be amended by the Xxxxxx City Council are incorporated herein as if set out in full subject to the following provisions: 1. If the work assignment for a Swing, Night, or Split Shift is scheduled for less than a month, then the shift differential pay shall be prorated to a daily rate. (b) The following shift differentials shall be paid for work assignments as follows:

Shift Pay Differential. Employees working the afternoon shift shall receive a shift pay differential of sixty cents ($0.60) per hour.

  • Shift Differential A. Shift differential will be $.60 cents per hour. B. Employees eligible for shift differential are those whose work shift begins before 6:00 a.m. or ends on or after 7:00 p.m. and are scheduled by their supervisor for a total shift of at least six (6) hours in duration. This shift differential shall not apply to those employees who have requested and have been granted flexible work scheduling.

  • Shift Differential Pay A. Employees shall receive additional compensation at the rate of $.75 per hour for all hours worked on an assigned shift when the majority of the hours worked are between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. B. In lieu of compensation set forth in paragraph A above, employees shall receive additional compensation at the rate of $1.50 per hour for all hours worked on a regularly assigned shift when the majority of the hours worked are between 12:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.

  • Night Differential An employee shall be paid a night differential, bi-weekly for hours worked between midnight and 7:00 a.m. at a rate of $3.00 per hour. Night differential worked during overtime will be paid at one and one-half (1 ½) times $3.00 and on statutory holidays at two (2) times $3.00.

  • Night Shift Differential Unit 12 employees who regularly work shifts shall receive a night shift differential as set forth below: A. Employees shall qualify for the first night shift pay differential of forty (40) cents per hour where four (4) or more hours of the regularly scheduled work shift falls between 6 p.m. and 12 midnight. B. Employees shall qualify for the second night shift pay differential of fifty (50) cents per hour where four (4) or more hours of the regularly scheduled work shift fall between 12 midnight and 6 a.m. C. A "regularly scheduled work shift" are those regularly assigned work hours established by the department director or designee.

  • Shift Differentials 18.1 Employees whose regularly assigned shifts commence between 1400 and 2159 hours shall receive a shift differential of seventy-five cents (75¢) per hour, and employees whose regularly assigned shifts commence between 2200 and 0559 hours shall receive a shift differential of eighty cents (80¢) per hour. Effective January 1, 2005, for employees whose regularly assigned shifts commence between 2200 and 0559 hours shall receive a shift differential of one dollar ($1) per hour. Overtime shall not be calculated on the shift differential nor shall the shift differential be paid for paid absence from duty such as vacations, general holidays, etc.
