Shift Definitions. The following shift definitions shall apply:
Shift Definitions. Day shift is defined as being when the majority of hours fall between 0730 and 1530 hours. Evening shift is defined as being when the majority of hours fall between 1530 and 2330 hours. Night shift is defined as being when the majority of hours fall between 2330 and 0730. The noted definitions apply:

Shift Definitions. (1) Day shift is a shift that commences between 5:00 a.m. and 11:59 a.m.
Shift Definitions. The length of shift for employees may vary between two (2) and twelve (12) hours based on the specific nursing unit plan and/or the alternative shift guidelines. For definition purposes, there are three (3) shifts: Day, Evening and Night. A scheduled shift in which the majority of hours falls between (0600-1400) will be designated a Day, between (1400-2200) will be designated an Evening and between (2200-0600) will be designated a Night. Further, the day, evening and night shifts shall be clearly designated by the unit and/or program. On 24 hour units where patient care needs dictate the implementation of additional starting times, management will make every effort to minimize the number of start times an individual works. If unit staff do not voluntarily agree to work the additional starting times, unit staff will be assigned to those additional starting times by inverse seniority.
Shift Definitions i. The Company may require any employee to perform a week’s work on shift work of five shifts of up to eight hours each. Such shifts shall be between 11.00 p.m. on a Sunday and 8.00 a.m. on the following Saturday. Conditions and entitlements relating to 12-hour shifts are contained in the relevant site-specific Appendices.
