SERVICES FOR CHILDREN. AGE 0-5 YEARS AND THEIR FAMILIES GRANTEE shall abide by the intent of the California Children and Families Act of 1998, and Section 130100 of the Health and Safety Code, which states the program is created for the “purposes of promoting, supporting, and improving the early development of children from the prenatal stage to five years of age.” Funds provided under this agreement shall be used solely for the benefit of, and/or services to, children 0-5 and their families.

Increasing numbers of children live within families affected by drug and alcohol addictions. The city also has a high proportion of pupils attending private sector schools. Recent projections indicate a growth in schools rolls in the next five years. Population growth and changing school population concentrations across the city bring significant challenges in managing the school estate and planning and delivering services; school rationalisations will be required in some areas. Edinburgh has also seen a rapid growth in its bilingual population, bringing with it pupils with significant language support needs. In primary and secondary schools, attainment improved in reading, writing, and in mathematics between 2005 and 2008. In a small number of schools, attainment continues to require further improvement. Attainment at SQA examinations for 2007/08 saw the authority perform above the national average in most SQA indicators and the authority continues to perform well at higher levels.

  • Services Unique It is agreed that the services to be rendered by Employee hereunder are of a special, unique, unusual, extraordinary and intellectual character which gives them a peculiar value, the loss of which cannot be reasonably or adequately compensated in damages in an action at law and that a breach by Employee of any of the provisions contained herein will cause the Company irreparable injury and damage. Employee expressly agrees that the Company shall be entitled to injunctive or other equitable relief to prevent a breach hereof. Resort to any such equitable relief shall not be construed as a waiver of any of the rights or remedies which the Company may have against Employee for damages or otherwise.

  • Training and Education SECTION 1 – Law Enforcement Supervisors’ Training The state and the PBA recognize the importance of supervisor training programs to develop management skills in our law enforcement supervisors. The state will make a reasonable effort to continue existing training programs in law enforcement techniques and to develop new programs in performance review techniques, supervisory skills, and managerial techniques.

  • Services to Other Clients; Certain Affiliated Activities (a) The relationship between the Asset Manager and the Series is as described in this Agreement and nothing in this Agreement, none of the services to be provided pursuant to this Agreement, nor any other matter, shall oblige the Asset Manager to accept responsibilities that are more extensive than those set forth in this Agreement.
