Common use of SEPARATE ACCOUNT CONTRACT VALUE Clause in Contracts

SEPARATE ACCOUNT CONTRACT VALUE. On any Valuation Date, the Separate Account Contract Value is the sum of the then current value of the Accumulation Units allocated to each Subaccount for this Contract. For example, if 100 Accumulation Units were allocated to each of the Money Market and Equity Subaccounts as of June 1, Separate Account Contract Value as of that date would be determined as follows: Subaccount Number of Accumulation Units Accumulation Unit Value as of June 1 Subaccount Value Money Market 100 $10 $1,000 Equity 100 $12 $1,200 Separate Account Contract Value as of June 1................................ $2,200 ACCUMULATION UNIT VALUE The initial Accumulation Unit Value for each Subaccount was set by SBL. The Accumulation Unit Value for any subsequent Valuation Date is equal to (1) times (2) where: is the Accumulation Unit Value determined on the immediately preceding Valuation Date; and is the Net Investment Factor as of the Valuation Date with respect to which Accumulation Unit Value is being determined. The Accumulation Unit Value for any subsequent Valuation Date which is a Payable Date is further adjusted by deducting any dividend declared as of the preceding Record Date.
