Seniority Established. 33 The seniority of an employee within the bargaining unit shall be established as of the date on which 34 the employee began continuous daily employment (hereinafter "hire date"), in an open position, 35 unless such seniority shall be lost as hereinafter provided (exclusive of temporary summer hires of 36 sixty (60) workdays or less). For the purpose of this section, an open position is a regular position to 37 which no other employee has continuing claim. 38

Seniority Established. (a) Seniority shall be separate for each city or agreed designated lesser unit. An employee’s seniority shall be by last date of hire in the employee’s job classification. A list of employees in the order of their seniority in job classification shall be posted in a conspicuous place at the place of employment. Such lists shall be kept current and copies shall be mailed to the Union quarterly. However, up to forty-five (45) days after the posting, an employee who believes there is a controversy of his/her seniority standing on such list shall submit his/her complaint through the grievance procedure. If no controversy exists after forty- five (45) days of the posting of the seniority list, the list shall be deemed established.
Seniority Established. Seniority dates for two or more employees hired on any single day shall be determined by lottery among each such group once they have passed the probationary period.
Seniority Established. An employee shall establish seniority when he becomes a regular employee of the Employer. An employee who acquires seniority status shall be considered to have acquired such status upon the first date of employment or the end of the last break in service, whichever is the later.

  • Seniority Frozen When an Agency intends to initiate a layoff, the Agency will notify the Union in writing that all seniority will be frozen from the date of notice for a period not to exceed three (3) months. However, during the period when seniority is frozen, the employee will continue to accumulate time towards seniority for purposes of future computations.
