SENIOR TECHNICIAN. An employee, who will assist the Xxxxxxx in all aspects of the job, can effectively manage the crew in the Xxxxxxx’x temporary absence. Must be able to survey/Inspect poles and lines, treat poles, and assist in the training of crew members when required. This position is not an automatic step in progression, and will be used at the Company’s discretion.

SENIOR TECHNICIAN. Has a minimum of two as a technician and is qualified to perform the following tasks: the planning and installation, including testing, terminating, and troubleshooting, of structured cabling systems (SCS). Possesses the skills for fiber-optic installation, including splicing, testing, terminating, and troubleshooting. Must be skilled in the maintenance, service, testing, and repair of PBX systems and computer networking systems. Should have experience installing other special systems; such as security/access control, sound reinforcement, media retrieval, wireless/RF, and/or clock systems, etc. Duties may include the supervision of apprentice technicians, installer/technicians, technicians, and/or other senior technicians. Time requirements may be waived by passing a senior technician equivalency exam developed by the NJATC and administered by the local union or through independent third-party testing sanctioned by the NJATC and supported by the IBEW and NECA.

They may also design cabling layout and supervise Technicians. Technicians shall advance from level to level after two thousand (2000) hours of work experience at each level. Technicians shall not advance to Senior Technician until he or she has completed an agreed upon industry education program as prescribed by the Ontario Communication Training Trust Fund.

SENIOR TECHNICIAN. Senior Technicians shall perform the job duties and responsibilities of a Journey Technician and are able to install all Company systems and components; troubleshoot system or component problems; repair or replace equipment in accordance with guidelines; document work and obtain client signatures in accordance with guidelines; drive to and from client locations as necessary; meet with clients to discuss installation, repair and installation of system use; and all other duties as required. Existing Employees shall be reclassified as Senior Technicians effective May 1, 2012 and be excluded from the C.T.S. requirement but are encouraged to obtain it. Senior Technicians shall possess and maintain a Washington State Limited Energy License (EL06).
