Senior Faculty Status. Policies and Procedures‌ Senior faculty status describes the protection afforded a faculty member not to be terminated except for causes and circumstances described in this Handbook (section 2.9). Its purpose is to provide the faculty member the freedom of teaching, of research, and of extramural activities which promotes a free search for truth and individual dignity and integrity. Achieving senior faculty status entitles a faculty member to one of two contract options: the five-year contract or the continuous contract, as described in section 2.3 above. In accepting senior faculty status, the faculty member acknowledges his/her responsibility to uphold and advance the values, ethics, knowledge, and mission of his/her profession and of Oklahoma Baptist University.

  • Seniority Status 13.6.2.1 When an appointment to teach a course is made available under 13.2.6 and in accordance with 13.6.3.1, a Member who has seniority status in the course or substantially similar course, and who has maintained a satisfactory teaching performance, shall be offered the appointment.   • Pay Status An aggrieved employee and the Union Delegate shall be in a pay status during those working hours in which a grievance, a grievance mediation, or an arbitration hearing is held. Release time for additional employee representation shall be subject to approval by the Labor Relations Officer or designee when a group grievance is filed.

  • Probationary Status This article shall not apply to an employee in probationary status who shall have no right to grieve or arbitrate release from such probationary appointment.

Emeriti shall be afforded at least the following privileges: desk space if available, university computer account, library privileges, catalog listing, a printed certificate, professional use of the title, invitations to university functions, course privileges available pursuant to Article 13.13, faculty parking privileges and inclusion on the mailing lists for all university publications.

  • Family Member Eligibility For purposes of this section, “eligible family member” shall be defined by the Public Employees’ Medical and Hospital Care Act and includes domestic partners that have been certified with the Secretary of State’s office in accordance with AB 26 (Chapter 588, Statutes of 1999).

  • Leave for Family Illness In the case of illness of a member of an employee’s immediate family, meaning spouse, son, daughter, father, mother, or person to whom the employee is legal guardian when no one at home other than the employee can provide for the needs of the ill person, the employee may be granted, after notifying her immediate management supervisor, leave with pay up to five (5) working days per fiscal year, for the purpose of making such arrangements as are necessary to permit the employee’s return to work. The immediate management supervisor may require proof of the need for such leave as she considers necessary.

  • *Experienced Educator An educator with Professional Teacher Status (PTS).

  • Contractor Status The Contractor, under the code of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), is an independent contractor, and neither the Contractor's employees nor contract personnel are, or shall be deemed, the Client's employees.
