Selection of Assistant Chairperson. The Chairperson shall appoint a tenured faculty member in the department to serve as Assistant Chairperson. The Chairperson shall notify the Xxxx and Xxxxxxx of the appointment.

Selection of Assistant Chairperson. The Chairperson shall, following consultation with the appropriate Personnel and Budget Committee, nominate at least two (2), but not more than three (3), suitable, tenured members of the faculty for appointment to Assistant Chairperson. The candidates will be reviewed by the Xxxx who will make a recommendation to the Xxxxxxx. The Xxxxxxx may select any of the candidates nominated by the Department Chairperson, or request additional nominations from the Department Chairperson. The selection of the Xxxxxxx shall be final.

  • Vice Chairperson The Vice Chairperson shall act in place of the Chairperson in the event of the Chairperson’s absence, inability, or refusal to act, and shall exercise and discharge such other duties as may be required by the Committee. The Vice Chairperson shall serve as the parliamentarian and interpret any ambiguities of the bylaws.
