Common use of SECURITY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION Clause in Contracts

SECURITY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION. For this clause “personal information” has the meaning given to it in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). The company undertakes not to pass on or sell Employees’ personal information either directly or indirectly (e.g. contractual arrangements with clients), except to comply with a specific direction from a government authority or a request from a party to this agreement (e.g. time and wages information). To the extent allowable by law, all requests for the Company to provide personal information shall be notified to the Union and genuine consultation shall occur between the parties to this agreement. The company commits to minimise the extent of employee information held in order to meet its legal and employment relationship requirements.
