Section P. If the work day/work year and/or job description of a school nurse is changed, the changes will be subject to negotiation. Section Q To hold status and benefits of one-half time teacher, the teacher’s assignment shall consist of three hours and fifteen minutes of professional assignment, exclusive of lunch. Such a teacher shall be on the appropriate placement of the Unit A Salary Schedule and shall receive one-half time compensation of a full time teacher. Section P. It is recognized that some teachers hold positions whose regular responsibilities facilitate the successful opening or closing of the school year. As such, this may necessitate additional workdays for the individuals as specified below: Middle School - Counselors may be required to work up to two (2) additional days prior to the start of the school year. Counselors will be compensated at their per diem for the first full day worked and receive a compensatory day for the second full day worked. The compensatory time will be used at a time agreed upon between the counselor and the building principal. High School - Counselors may be required to work up to three (3) additional days prior to the start of the school year and one (1) day at the end of the school year. Counselors will be compensated at their per diem for the one (1) day at the end of the school year and the first (1st) full day worked prior to the start of the school year. Counselors will receive a compensatory day for each additional full day worked up to a maximum of two (2) days prior to the start of the school year. The compensatory time will be used at a time agreed upon between the counselor and the building principal. High School - Student Activities Directors may be required to work up to two (2) additional days prior to the start of the school year. The teacher will receive a compensatory day for each full day worked. The compensatory time will be used at a time agreed upon between the teacher and the building principal. Teachers listed above will be notified prior to the end of the school year if they will be required to work additional days outside the established return and/or ending date for teachers.
