Section 14.2.5. 39 Step Five (5): If no satisfactory settlement is reached at the Board of Directors level, and the Union 40 believes the grievance to be valid, the grievance may be submitted for arbitration according to the 41 expedited rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). Submission of the grievance for 42 arbitration shall be made within fifteen (15) workdays following receipt of the Board’s decision. The 43 District and the Union shall mutually select an arbitrator from a list provided by the AAA. Each 44 party shall bear its own costs of arbitration, except that the fees and charges of the arbitrator, if any, 45 shall be shared equally by the parties.

  • Section 14.2 16 All employees subject to this Agreement who are not members of the Association on the effective date of 17 this Agreement, and all employees subject to this Agreement who are hired at a time subsequent to the 18 effective date of this Agreement, shall, as a condition of employment, become members in good standing 19 of the Association within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this Agreement or within thirty (30) days 20 of the hire date, whichever is applicable.   • Section 14.3 24 The parties recognize that an employee should have the option of declining to participate as a member in 25 the Association, yet contribute financially to the activities of the Association in representing such 26 employee as a member of the collective bargaining unit.
