SECONDARY SICK LEAVE BANK. If an employee has a Secondary Sick Leave Bank, hours in that bank will be used first in accordance with the rules regarding sick leave use. Hours in this bank may also be used in the event of a verified non-industrial disability which has resulted in an absence of 60 consecutive calendar days. In this event, sick leave in the Secondary Sick Leave Bank may be used for additional consecutive absences resulting from the disability; or it may be used to supplement LTD should that event occur. Additionally, an amount of sick leave equal to the hours used from an employee's Primary Bank for said disability may be transferred from the employee's secondary Bank to the Primary, provided that such transfer does not result in an excess of 672 hours in the employee's Primary Bank.

Hours in this bank may also be used in the event of a verified non-industrial disability, which has resulted in an absence from duty of 60 consecutive calendar days. In this event, sick leave in the Secondary Sick Leave Bank may be used for additional consecutive absences resulting from the disability; or it may be used to supplement LTD should the employee qualify for long term disability benefits. Additionally, an amount of sick leave equal to the hours used from the Primary Bank for said disability may be transferred from the secondary Bank to the Primary provided that such transfer shall not result in there being in excess of 480 hours in the Primary Bank.
SECONDARY SICK LEAVE BANK. In the past, there was no cap on the accrual of sick leave. As provided above, the parties agreed to place a cap on the accrual of sick leave in the Primary Sick Leave Bank and create a Secondary Sick Leave Bank. This bank includes sick leave previously earned and as well as sick leave deposited into the bank when an employee reaches their maximum accrual in the Primary Sick Leave Bank as provided for in Article 15.1. If an employee has a Secondary Sick Leave Bank, the first 40 hours of sick leave used per calendar year must be from this bank. Hours in this bank may also be used in the event of a verified non-industrial disability which has resulted in an absence from duty of at least 60 consecutive calendar days. In this event, sick leave in the Secondary Sick Leave Bank may be used for additional consecutive absences resulting from the disability; or it may be used to supplement LTD payments (so that the employee receives his/her full compensation) should the employee qualify for long term disability benefits. Additionally, an amount of sick leave equal to the hours used from the Primary Bank for said disability (i.e., if an employee is out for at least 60 days) may be transferred from the Secondary Bank to the Primary Bank provided that such transfer shall not result in there being in excess of 480 hours in the Primary Bank.

  • Family Sick Leave An employee may use Family Sick Leave for the illness of a member of the employee's immediate family who requires the care and assistance of the employee. Up to eighty (80) hours per calendar year of the employee’s accumulated unused sick leave may be used for this purpose.

  • Pregnancy Sick Leave Leave for illness of a Nurse arising out of or associated with a Nurse’s pregnancy prior to the commencement of, or the ending of, pregnancy leave granted in accordance with Article 13.00, may be granted sick leave in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Annual Paid Sick Leave Fifteen (15) days sick leave per year shall be earned by an employee at the rate of 1.25 days for every month that an employee is employed.

  • Sick Leave Buyback The Board agrees to buy sick leave days back from those teachers who have more than one hundred (100) accumulated sick leave days at the end of a school year. The value of each unused day will be determined based on the formula in Section A above. The total amount calculated will be deposited into the teacher’s Section 401(a) account. If a teacher has in excess of 6 personal days, the days will be transferred to the total sick day accumulation for this calculation. The number of days will be figured using the above chart in this section.

  • Advanced Sick Leave a. Employees who are incapacitated for the performance of duties because of serious disability or ailment may request advance sick leave not to exceed two hundred and forty (240) hours. These two hundred and forty (240) hours of sick leave may be advanced to an employee with a medical emergency related to the adoption of a child, for family care or bereavement purposes, or to care for a family member with a serious health condition.

  • Sick Leave Donation In accord with state law and Medical Center policy, RN’s may donate sick leave to any employee entitled to receive such donations.

  • Unpaid Sick Leave The City Manager shall, upon the advice and recommendation of the City physician, grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board rules.

  • Sick Leave Buy Back To encourage and reward employees who maintain good job attendance, the parties agree to the following incentive award: Employees who utilize two (2) sick leave days or less each assigned school calendar year and year-round employees who utilize three (3) sick leave days or less during each assigned school calendar year - upon request – shall receive payment for up to eight (8) days of sick leave, provided the employee worked the full assigned calendar year.* The following procedures apply to the payment of sick leave under this section.

  • Sick Leave Donations Employees in the Unit as well as officers above the rank of sergeant and other non-bargaining unit employees in the Police Department may donate sick leave for the purpose of providing authorized sick leave to any Unit member who has exhausted all accrued annual, compensatory and sick leave. Sick leave means leave earned under Section A. of this Article. The procedures governing donation of sick leave followed in implementing the Sick Leave Donor Program established by the predecessor Agreement between the parties shall remain in effect, except as provided in Section P of this Article. Where the FOP has an established leave donation agreement with another bargaining unit within Xxxxxxxxxx County, the employer agrees to honor the agreement pursuant to the applicable contractual requirements of the bargaining unit and transfer sick leave as requested.
