Secondary Preparation Period. Each regular, full-time middle and high school classroom teacher shall be afforded preparation periods equivalent to a class, consistent in length with the master schedule cycle of classes for the site. Preparation periods shall be used for professional, job related work including preparation for classes, preparation of teaching materials, and conferences with administrators, staff, counselors, students and parents. During the scheduled preparation period, unit members shall not normally be expected to perform pupil supervision or classroom teaching duties. However, they may be required to do so in emergencies, or where another unit member is absent and no substitute is readily available to cover the assignment or when needed to cover for a teacher who is engaged in assigned athletic or other extra- curricular activities. The affected unit member shall be paid for such duties at the teacher hourly rate. Reasonable effort shall be made to limit the number of such assignments, and such assignments shall be reasonably distributed to the extent individual schedules permit.

Secondary Preparation Period. The District will not assign a secondary teacher more than three (3) different preparation periods per day. In case of a compelling academic need, one (1) additional preparation may be assigned. Any additional preparations cannot be made without the consent of the teacher. This section does not apply to Alternative Educational Programs under Section 2, Continuation High School, full-time TK-12 Independent study and non-departmentalized Special Education Programs.
Secondary Preparation Period. Each regular full-time secondary classroom teacher (or library media teacher) shall be assigned five scheduled class periods weekly as preparation periods. Preparation periods are to be used for professional duties including preparation for class and conferences with parents, students and staff members; during the preparation period the employee shall not be expected to perform supervisory or classroom teaching functions except as reasonably needed to provide such services during school related activities, during emergencies, or when replacement or auxiliary pay is received pursuant to Article XIV, Sections 25.0 and 28.0. In order to provide such preparation time, the District shall assign personnel other than classroom teachers to perform regularly scheduled non-classroom supervision duties such as before and after school and nutrition supervision. Preparation periods scheduled during the first period of the instructional day are to be distributed equitably among the staff over a period of time.
Secondary Preparation Period. During regular school hours, each full-time secondary school teacher shall be provided a daily preparation period which shall be the equivalent of a class period appropriate to the regular program in a school, but not less than 50 minutes except on minimum or shortened days. The amount of preparation time provided in a traditional week schedule (all classes five days per week) may be redistributed within the week to allow for alternative bell schedules. This redistribution shall not result in a reduction in the total weekly minutes for preparation time and shall be approved by the staff with a two-thirds vote. The preparation time shall be free of classroom instruction or other assigned duties.
Secondary Preparation Period. All secondary Professional Employees shall have five (5) preparation periods per week during the student day, excepting where emergency conditions may require the principal to temporarily assign a Professional Employee to duties necessary to sustain the district’s educational program.

  • Preparation Period During the preparation period, a teacher will have no other assignment except in an emergency situation. It is recognized that the preparation period is a scheduled part of the teacher's work day and the teacher is expected to be in his/her respective Building. If the teacher must leave the Building during his/her preparation and/or lunch period, he/she must notify the Building switchboard operator.

  • Preparation Periods 31-1 The School District agrees to maintain daily preparation periods during the student day in all junior and senior high schools. At schools where block scheduling is in effect, the total preparation time provided shall be equal to the preparation time provided at schools not operating on a block schedule.

  • Transition Period Due to the nature of our purchasing process, the District often requires an existing service provider to continue to provide goods and/or services while the District is in the process of advertising, evaluating, and awarding a contract for the provision of the same goods and/or services in the future. To accommodate this process, the Contractor shall agree to maintain the same terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement for a period up to ninety (90) days after the automatic termination of this Agreement at the end of its term, if requested by the District, as a transition period. In addition, if the Contractor is not the successful bidder for a future solicitation for the same or similar services, he or she shall agree to provide the same goods and/or services provided in this Agreement for a period up to ninety (90) days to allow for an orderly transition to the new provider. The District and the Contractor may mutually agree to a longer transition period.

  • AGREEMENT PERIOD The terms of this Agreement and the performance of the parties hereto shall commence, or be deemed to have commenced, the 1st day of January 2020 and will continue through the 31st day of December 2020, both dates inclusive, unless sooner terminated or extended as provided for herein.

  • Xxxxx Period After payment of the first Dues, the Subscriber is entitled to a grace period of 30 days for the pay- ment of any Dues due. During this grace period, the Agreement will remain in force. However, the Sub- xxxxxxx will be liable for payment of Dues accruing during the period the Agreement continues in force.

  • Negotiation Period Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this Agreement, or any alleged breach hereof, will be subject to binding arbitration in accordance with this Section 7.11. If such a dispute, controversy or claim exists, the parties shall attempt for a 30-day period (the "Negotiation Period") from the date any party gives any one or more of the other parties notice (a "Dispute Notice") pursuant to this Section, to negotiate in good faith, a resolution of the dispute. The Dispute Notice shall set forth with specificity the basis of the dispute. During the Negotiation Period, representatives of each party involved in the dispute who have authority to settle the dispute shall meet at mutually convenient times and places and use their best efforts to resolve the dispute.
