Common use of Second Step Clause in Contracts

Second Step. If a satisfactory settlement is not reached in the First Step, then it may be referred to the Second Step, provided it is so referred in writing to the Human Resources Director within seven (7) calendar days after receipt of the Company’s answer in the First Step. At the Second Step, the grievor may be represented by a Union Representative. The Union and Company representatives will meet and discuss the grievance and the Company’s answer will be given within fourteen (14) calendar days after delivery of the Company’s First Step answer.
