Second-Shift Premium Sample Clauses
A Second-Shift Premium clause establishes additional compensation for employees who work during a designated second shift, typically outside standard daytime hours. This clause specifies the rate or percentage increase applied to the base wage for hours worked during the second shift, and may outline eligibility criteria or exceptions. Its core function is to incentivize employees to work less desirable hours and to ensure fair compensation for work performed outside regular schedules.
Second-Shift Premium. (a) All non-nursing staff who work second-shift as required by the Hospital, subject to meeting the criteria in sub- clause (b), shall be paid the following shift premium:
(b) Non-nursing staff who work second-shift refer to:
(i) Non-nursing shift staff who work in the afternoon shift with work hours ending on or after 9pm; or
(ii) Non-nursing staff on staggered work pattern with at least 7 hours of work per shift (excluding meal break) ending on or after 9pm; and
(iii) Non-nursing staff must work on average 8 second- shifts per month.
(c) A Patient Care Assistant (PCA) who is paid the PCA Xxxx Allowance will not be eligible for second-shift premium.

Second-Shift Premium. All employees covered by this Agreement assigned to and working on the second shift shall receive a premium of ninety cents (90¢) per hour over and above regular pay.
Second-Shift Premium. Employees who work on the second shift shall receive, in addition to their regular pay for the pay period, $.50 per hour. The Employer reserves the right to set regular work hours for the purposes of this contract.

(d) Patient Care Assistant (PCA) / Health Care Assistant (HCA) / Operating Theatre Technician (XXX) who is paid the Xxxx Allowance will not be eligible for second-shift premium.
Second-Shift Premium. Second shift employees (those employees who have a majority of their shift fall between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.) shall be entitled to a second shift premium of 20 cents per hour. Second shift employees may be temporarily assigned to first shift at the discretion of their supervisor; in such cases the premium shall remain in effect.

(ii) Non-nursing staff on staggered work pattern with at least 7 hours of work per shift (excluding meal break) ending on or after 8pm; and
(iii) Non-nursing staff must work on average 8 second-shifts per month.
(c) A Patient Care Assistant (PCA) / Healthcare Assistant (HCA) / Operating Theatre Technician (XXX) / Care Support Associate (CSA) who is paid the Xxxx Allowance or non-nursing staff who is paid the Permanent Night Allowance will not be eligible for Second-Shift Premium.
