Common use of Second Medical Opinion Clause in Contracts

Second Medical Opinion. In cases of frequent or long term Sick Leave, the Employer may require the employee to obtain a second medical opinion from a doctor appointed by the Employer. In the event the Employer does so, the employee will authorize their doctor to make available the required information to the doctor appointed by the Employer and shall substantiate that this has been done. Such medical reports shall be treated as confidential between the employee, the doctor, and Human Resources. The cost of a second medical opinion will be borne by the Employer.
