Scientific Research. The Parties shall individually or jointly, including in co-operation with appropriate international organisations, promote and, whenever possible, support scientific and technical research programmes related to the root causes and consequences of transboundary haze pollution and the means, methods, techniques and equipment for land and/or forest fire management, including fire fighting.
Scientific Research. The Parties shall promote joint research activities in the field of GNSS through European and Israeli research programmes including the European Community Framework Programme for Research and Development, and the research programmes of the European Space Agency, the Ministry of Science and Technology of Israel and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labour of Israel. The joint research activities should contribute to planning the future developments of a GNSS for civil use. The Parties agree to task the Committee under Article 14 to define the appropriate mechanism aimed at ensuring effective contacts and participation in the research programmes.

Scientific Research. Curriculum QUESTions Vision Gladwin Community Schools received the 2008 Education Excellence Awards for their curriculum reform. Gladwin Community Schools has traditionally had very high achievement scores, but we realized in the past few years we had lost our focus and it showed. Student achievement had slipped to unacceptable levels. After considering several “quick fix” options, we decided that we needed a system-wide culture change to be more focused on achievement. That change was the Curriculum QUESTions Vision. QUESTions are a K-12 initiative designed to facilitate systematic change in the way we educate children. The process is an extension of the work on professional learning communities by Xxxxxxx Xxxxxx, and focuses on answering five curriculum questions: • What do we teach? First and foremost our curriculum must be aligned with state standards. Teachers must be given the time and guidance to become intimately aware of the content expectations. This continues to be done through professional development within the district and through the RESD. • When do we teach? Through the development of pacing guides, our teachers have articulated a focused plan of instruction that will ensure that all objectives are taught at the appropriate grade level. Pacing guides are adjusted according to student need by analyzing MEAP results and Benchmark Assessment results. • How will we know if the students have learned? Each core content area at each grade level administers a quarterly assessment. These assessments test the specific content expectations outlined in the pacing guides. The tests are scored at the district level and data is returned to the teachers and administrators within one week of the test date. • How do we teach? As benchmark assessments identify weaknesses in or instructional methods, the school has responded with direct and focused professional development. • What will we do with those students who have not learned? Following the pyramid of intervention model, teachers and administrators are working collaboratively to institute interventions for those students who do not meet the standard performance level on the benchmark assessment. This process is unique in that it is a systemic approach to raising achievement. Rather than relying on the trend of the day, or fragmented strategies, our process relies on a change in the way we approach all aspects of the learning process- a true cultural shift. Scientific Research. Nothing in this Agreement shall prevent scientific research or the publication of the same by any Party.

The Contracting Parties shall individually or in co-operation with other Contracting Parties or appropriate international organizations, promote and, whenever possible, support scientific and technical programmes of relevance to the conservation and management of natural resources, including monitoring, research, the exchange of technical information and the evaluation of results.

Scientific Research. The Principal Investigator and the Co-Investigators will carry out scientific investigations leading to the publication of results in proceedings of scientific meetings and refereed scientific journals. The investigators will ensure a citation identifying NPP is contained in each publication resulting from work supported by this funding. The CERES IT will provide expertise to the scientific community regarding CERES standard and special data products.
Scientific Research. Experimental Development (“SR&ED”) services shall be provided by DEX, according to Canada Revenue Agency criteria, in continuation of GSA.2012 until AUX recognizes the results and thereafter, at the sole discretion of AUX.
