School Trips Sample Clauses

The 'School Trips' clause outlines the rules and procedures governing the organization and participation of students in off-campus educational activities. It typically details requirements such as obtaining parental consent, ensuring adequate supervision, and adhering to safety protocols during trips. For example, the clause may specify the need for risk assessments or set limits on the types of activities allowed. Its core function is to ensure student safety and legal compliance while providing clear guidelines for both staff and parents regarding school-sponsored excursions.
School Trips. During the academic year, your child may be expected to participate in a school trip, such as a sports event, academic trip, community project or weekend trip. Transportation could be in a hired bus, in a school bus, in a car from a local care service or ride-share platform like Uber / Lyft or in a vehicle driven by an EF staff member. By signing this agreement, the student has permission to participate in off campus travel as set forth in this Agreement. If you would like to restrict your child’s participation in activities in any way, you are required to state any such restriction in writing in English attached to this document. Please contact the EF Academy office in your home country or the school directly to discuss further. EF Academy will take reasonable steps to enforce any restrictions to off-cam- pus travel; however, EF Academy will not be responsible if your child fails to adhere to restrictions relating to off-campus travel. Students will be subject to disciplinary sanctions if they are found to have violated restrictions or to have behaved in a way to risk the safety of themselves or others while off-campus. EF Academy reserves the right to adjust the program content, program fees and other fees due to international currency fluctuations, increase in trans- portation costs or any other factors beyond its control (including but not lim- ited to force majeure events). Fees are subject to change during the period of enrollment. The published fees are valid for the academic year for which you enroll. Fees are normally reviewed annually but EF Academy reserves the right to change the annual fees for the following academic year at any time. Notice of changes will be given in advance. The application/enrollment fee and the program fee can be paid through EF Academy’s payment partner Flywire or with bank transfers. Please note that all transfers must reference the full name of the student, school and booking reference number to ensure quick and proper credit to their account. The sender of funds is responsible to pay the bank charges and commissions for both the sending and receiving banks or they will be applied to the stu- dent’s account. The application / enrollment fee is non-refundable. To secure a place in EF Academy programs, an initial payment of 3,500 GBP (the ‘First Instalment’) is payable immediately upon admission. Cancellations communicated after payment of this first installment are subject to a can- cellation fee as outlined in this doc...

School Trips. Sometimes the school may need to take additional safety measures for outside visits. The administration and recording of medicines administrated on school trips should be in accordance with this policy. All staff should know how to call the emergency services. All staff should also know who is responsible for carrying out emergency procedures in the event of need. Staff noticing an apparent deterioration in a pupil’s health should inform the Headteacher. If a pupil is taken to hospital by ambulance they will be accompanied by a member of staff who will remain until the pupil’s parent arrives. The member of staff should have details of any health care needs and medication the pupil has. Generally staff should not take pupils to hospital in their own car. However, in an emergency it may be the best course of action. Wherever possible the member of staff would be accompanied by another adult and have public liability vehicle insurance. The Headteacher and school staff treat medical information confidentially. Information on a pupil’s health care needs is likely to be sensitive data covered by the Data Protection Act 1998. Care is therefore be taken to ensure that consent is obtained before passing information to another party. By virtue of the Age of Legal Capacity (Scotland) Act 1991, a person under the age of 16 has legal capacity to consent to any surgical, medical or dental procedure if, in the opinion of a health professional, that person is capable of understanding the nature of the treatment. Any exchange of information should be with the consent of the child/young person (if he/she has the necessary capacity to understand why) or otherwise the parent or guardian. Once consent has been obtained sensitive information about a pupil should be shared only with those who need to know. Escorts and others should only be told what is necessary for them to know to keep the child safe. Completed records of administering medication are kept on file in case the administration of medication is ever questioned. The Headteacher will need to agree with the parents exactly what support the school can provide for a child with health care needs. Where there is concern about whether the school can meet a pupil’s needs, or where the parents’ expectations appear unreasonable, the Headteacher can seek advice from the school nurse or doctor, or other medical advisers and, if appropriate, Officers from the Authority. School Trips. A variety of school trips will be provided for your child while a pupil here. Bills include a charge to cover the cost of School trips and outings. Parents' prior consent will be sought for a trip. The Pupil is subject to school discipline in all respects whilst engaged in a school trip.
School Trips. A risk assessment will be carried out for all new activities and for any activity which is infrequent. Frequent re-occurring activities will have assessments reviewed on a regular basis. • The Principal will ensure that the person assigned with the assessment understands the risks and is familiar with the activity that is planned. The findings of the completed risk assessment must be recorded. • It is not necessary to complete individual risk assessments for activities that usually form part of the school day, for example, taking pupils to local venues, such as a swimming pool or sports ground. Any risks of these routine activities will be monitored by regular checks. Staff must report any incidents or changes in the situation which will prompt a review of the risks. • Prior to any trip staff must ensure that the required risk assessment has been carried out and approved, adequate supervision has been arranged, first aid equipment and individual children’s medication is available, Children with specific health and / or SEN care plans have appropriate needs met.
School Trips. In order to participate in a field trip, students must have a written parent/guardian consent note. Participation is a privilege, not a right. A student’s academic and disciplinary record will be subject to review and students who have demonstrated their inability or unwillingness to cooperate and obey rules either in school, or on previous field trips, will jeopardize their opportunity to attend. Students are reminded that, while on a field trip, they are subject to the same rules of conduct and consequences as apply while they are in school. Students represent Our Lady of ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ High School when they go on a trip. Students on overnight trips who do not conform to the rules of conduct may be subject to return home by the most appropriate public transportation at parent or guardian expense. It is the parent’s responsibility to come and provide the escort home for their student. If this proves impossible then they must bear the expense of the fees required for one of the chaperones to escort the student home. Any student absent from class because they have gone on an authorized athletic event, field trip or school trip is held responsible for any missed work.
School Trips. A ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ trip is one that is sponsored by a faculty member, uses the school’s name, and has the recommendation of the appropriate division head and the approval of the Head of School. Such an enterprise is undertaken with the clear understanding that school regulations apply. Teachers who undertake such a trip accept the responsibility of acting in loco parentis. Students who violate school regulations may be sent home immediately, unaccompanied, at the parents’ expense. Upon return of that student, all major infractions of behavior or conduct will be subject to consideration for further disciplinary review by the Division Head and Head of School. Our general policy with respect to off-campus activities is to presume that parents are responsible for the behavior of their children. To presume otherwise is to invite parental abdication of authority and accountability. However, if ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇’▇ students, individually or in a group, engage in on- or off-campus activity that brings notoriety to themselves and/or discredit to ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, the school may exercise jurisdiction, applying severe individual penalties up to and including expulsion.
