School District Responsibilities a) The School District shall employ a maximum of two (2) Employment Specialists to provide services under this Arrangement. Each ES shall spend 100% of their time providing employment services described in this Arrangement to VR SE IPE students. The services provided by the ES shall not be those typical or customary services provided by the school district but must be new or expanded services made possible under this Arrangement. All services shall be based on the individual needs of the student and provided by the ES pursuant to the student’s needs.

The Shaler Area School District agrees to comply with all related federal, state, and local laws pertaining to the delivery of mental health and drug and alcohol rehabilitation services within school districts, including but not limited to the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Protection of Pupil Rights. The school district also agrees to provide a SAP team that complies with the BEC 24 P.S. 15-1547 for membership, training, common planning times, and ongoing maintenance. The laws of the State of Minnesota have vested in the School District the full authority and power to manage, control and direct the operation of the School District and to adopt, modify or repeal policies, rules and regulations for the school district. All such authority and power of the School District shall continue unimpaired, except as limited by the specific provisions of this Agreement and applicable State and Federal laws.
