School Day Sample Clauses
School Day. The school day for members of the bargaining unit shall not exceed seven and one-half (7½) hours of consecutive time which shall include a duty-free, uninterrupted lunch period of no less than thirty (30) minutes.
School Day. A. The length of the school day shall be seven (7) hours and five (5) minutes inclusive of the arrival and departure time.
B. The reporting time for elementary school and K-8 school teachers shall be fifteen (15) minutes prior to the time designated as the official homeroom period. The reporting time for high school and middle school teachers shall be ten (10) minutes prior to the time designated as the official homeroom period. In the event there is no homeroom period during the instructional day or there is no homeroom period, reporting time for elementary school and K-8 school teachers shall be fifteen (15) minutes prior to the beginning of the student instructional day and ten minutes for high school and middle school teachers. Leaving time shall be upon the completion of the teacher’s responsibility but in no event less than ten (10) minutes for elementary school and K-8 school teachers and no less than five (5) minutes for high school and middle school teachers after the conclusion of the instructional day.
C. It is further agreed that the teacher will provide extra time either within or outside of the teacher’s school day for the benefit of the needs of his students as shall be determined by the teacher.
D. For the purposes of leaves (i.e., sick, personal) a half-day of leave time shall be defined as three (3) hours and thirty-two (32) minutes minimum, from the start of or prior to the end of the work day.
E. A joint committee composed of three (3) members appointed by the Board and three (3) members appointed by the Union shall meet within 30 days of the date of the ratification of this Agreement to address the additional salary payable to members of the bargaining unit for work performed beyond the 7 hour and 5 minute duty day and/or beyond the 190 duty day school year at every Charter, Transformation, Innovation, New Schools Initiative, Turnaround School, Restart or any other newly created school that operates with an extended school day and/or extended school year. A specific Memorandum of Understanding for each such school shall be created negotiated no later than August 15, 2013 for the terms of this Agreement of each school year.
School Day. All teachers may be assigned appropriate starting and dismissal times, provided that their total workday will be no longer than seven and one-quarter (7-1/4) hours, including the duty-free lunch period of at least thirty (30) consecutive minutes.
School Day. The standard teaching day is defined as that period of time a teacher is required to be in an educational facility as a participant in his/her standard teaching assignment. If it is necessary for the District to extend the school day or days to meet the 1,044 hour requirement, the hours of employment for K-12 instructional staff shall increase equal to the increase student contact time. The teaching day shall include student contact time, time to be distributed between before classes convene and after school is dismissed, and the 25-minute duty-free lunch, except when extended for faculty meetings or special/emergency conditions in accordance with Policy 4220. Providing the total amount of minutes remains the same, the specific time prior and after school beginning and ending may be varied by the building principal to meet the needs of the individual building, teacher, and to ensure that there is adequate supervision of students. When operating hours of a District program do not coincide with those of the typical school day, assigned teaching staff will be scheduled to work the hours which meet the specific needs of the program. In these cases, the total hours of employment per week shall equal the total hours of employment per week for other District teaching staff hired for the equivalent FTE. Direct instructional responsibilities may be assigned in place of student supervision prior to or after instruction. Atypical work schedules will be attached to the contract. Teachers shall be available to confer with students and/or parents before and after school. However, such conference time shall be mutually agreed to by the parent/student and the teacher. Teachers may leave the campus during the school day at times when they are duty-free, provided that proper arrangements have been made. Proper arrangements will include consent of the principal and notification of the appropriate building offices as to time leaving and time returning. When the employee is required to attend an after school or evening function (i.e.: Open House, Back to School Night and orientation), any after school supervisor duties shall be waived and employees are permitted to leave once the buses have departed.
School Day. Under normal conditions, the school work day for teachers shall not exceed seven (7) hours and thirty (30) minutes as scheduled by the Board and Administration.
B.1 The administration may extend the workday for professional staff meetings beyond the seven and one-half (7 1/2) hour day six (6) times per year. Such extensions of the work day shall not exceed 20 minutes.
School Day. 9.2.1 Elementary teachers shall report to work no less than 20 minutes before the regular beginning time of the school day and shall remain on duty for at least 15 minutes after the closing time of school.
9.2.2 Secondary teachers shall report to work no less than 30 minutes before the regular beginning time of the school day and shall remain on duty for at least 20 minutes after the regular closing time of school. In schools starting before 8:00 a.m., these time provisions may be reversed.
School Day. A. The Board and Association agree that the school day shall provide adequate time to ensure a quality educational program for the students, unit members, and parents.
B. The regular school day for all unit members shall normally be seven and one-half (7½) hours or not less than four hundred fifty (450) continuous minutes in addition to such time as shall be required to attend contractually provided after-school activities. A unit member assigned to two or more buildings during his/her work day shall have a minimum of fifteen (15) minutes travel time between buildings built into his/her normally scheduled work day. On any day that either building is on an alternative schedule, the building administration will work together to ensure that the students are supervised. The travel time shall be calculated from the ending time of the class in the building from which the teacher is traveling to the start time of the class in the building to which the teacher is traveling. The travel time may occur within the planning/lunch time provided that the minimum number of contractually required planning/lunch time minutes are met. A teacher who travels shall be assigned a school day schedule that does not exceed the seven and one- half (7½) hour school day for unit members, inclusive of lunch and planning time.
C. Unit members’ duty day shall be in accordance with the day schedule established for the building to which they are assigned.
D. Unit members shall be required to remain after the end of the regular work day not more than one day per month for staff meetings during the school year of not more than one (1) hour duration. All such meetings will begin no later than fifteen (15) minutes after the student dismissal time. Unit members shall be notified of all such meetings no later than forty-eight (48) hours prior to said meeting, unless an emergency situation arises as determined by the Administration. Attendance at all other staff meetings other than during the regular school day will be at the option of the individual unit member, unless an emergency nature as determined by the Superintendent or the building principal.
E. Unit members are expected to be in attendance for planned in-service meetings, in addition to the above.
F. Of the four hundred fifty (450) minutes in the regular school day, all unit members shall have a duty free lunch period of no less than thirty (30) continuous minutes. In the elementary schools there shall be three (3) extra duty stipends a...
School Day. A. Notwithstanding Section 7.4, the length of the Teacher work day shall be seven hours and thirty minutes at the secondary level and seven hours at the elementary level. The length of the student day shall be seven hours at the secondary level and six and a half hours at the elementary level. However, all Teachers shall have the same starting and ending time at the assigned building.
B. The building principal shall assign one (1) or more Teachers to supervise children to be transported by bus. Such Teacher shall perform "bus" duties as are prescribed by the principal and shall receive no additional compensation beyond that paid for the performance of regular teaching duties. Bus duty shall not extend past the scheduled Teacher's work day.
C. The building principal may, at his/her discretion, schedule periodic in-service meetings and workshops for his/her staff. Such meetings and workshops may be scheduled after the regular school day as set forth herein. No Teacher shall receive any additional compensation for attendance at such meetings or workshops beyond that paid for the performance of regular teaching duties.
D. The number of minutes in the work day is negotiable, but the specific starting and ending times of the work day are set by the Employer. Should a problem arise, it will be resolved by the Labor/Management Committee.
E. One-half day shall be determined by finding the mid-point in a Teacher's work day according to time a Teacher is due in his/her assigned building.

School Day. 1. The school day for teachers shall be seven and one-half (7 1/2 ) hours including a thirty (30) minute duty-free lunch period and shall fall between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
2. The school day shall consist only of the assigned teacher day schedule.
3. Each teacher should teach no more than his/her assigned load in any one (1) day.
