School Councils. Teachers elected to serve on school councils will receive compensatory time for their participation in after school council meetings. Compensatory time may be taken the day of and the day after a meeting. Should a meeting be scheduled on the day prior to the last day of the work week, the teacher may take the next regular workday for his/her compensatory time. Teachers on school councils who are entitled to compensatory time may leave ten (10) minutes after student dismissal time unless the teacher has a conference, scheduled meeting or bus duty, in which case the teacher may leave at the completion of the assigned duty.

The Association representative(s) at each particular attendance center shall be selected by the Association. The District is not required to pay compensation to an employee for service on said Council.

School Councils. School­Based Decision­Making State law: The principal co-chairs the school council, which is a representative, school-based committee composed of the principal, parents, teachers, community members and, at the secondary level, at least one student. The principal works with the council to identify the educational needs of the students attending the school, review the annual school budget, and prepare a school improvement plan. The plan addresses issues such as professional development, student learning time, parent involvement, safety and discipline, and ways to meet the diverse learning needs of the students in the school. The School Improvement Plan is submitted to the Superintendent of Schools for his/her approval.

  • Paraeducators A Paraeducator who has successfully completed a probationary period of ninety (90) calendar days. The term Paraeducators shall include all Paraeducators as defined in Appendix B. Paraeducators will work a 186-day contract, 7½ hours per day and receive four (4) paid holidays unless otherwise specified.

  • School Board Any reference to School Board or District in this Agreement shall mean the District and/or its designated officials.

  • School Any public elementary or secondary school including a charter school, universal pre- kindergarten program authorized pursuant to Education Law § 3602-e, an approved provider of preschool special education, any other publicly funded pre-kindergarten program, a school serving children in a special act school district as defined in Education Law § 4001, an approved private school for the education of students with disabilities, a State-supported school subject to the provisions of Article 85 of the Education Law, or a State-operated school subject to the provisions of Articles 87 or 88 of the Education Law.

  • MILWAUKEE BOARD OF SCHOOL DIRECTORS AUTHORITY It is hereby agreed and declared that this Contract is made expressly subject to the powers granted to said Milwaukee Board of School Directors, by the applicable provisions of Chapter 119 and Sec.
