School Choice. If the School Committee votes to accept School Choice, children of Unit members will be given preference over other applicants for inter-district (from outside the district) school choice. Children of Unit members will be given preference over other applicants for intra-district (within the district) school choice only if the teacher is requesting that his or her child be choiced into the school in which the parent is teaching.

School Choice. 2.12.1 Teachers shall be permitted to enroll or transfer their children, or children for whom they are legally responsible, in a school of their choice, space permitting. This will not exempt them from existing eligibility requirements. Teachers may enroll their children in the school in which they teach in any program which does not require special application process. Teachers’ children will be given priority status for all programs in the teacher’s school that do require a special application process.

School Choice. The Academy maintains membership in the Idaho Charter School Network, which advocates for school choice throughout the state. Two Academy administrators have served on the executive board of ICSN. Academy administration has testified numerous times before the Idaho legislature in support of school choice and related issues. Administration cooperates with other area charter schools to offer support and to identify shared concerns. The Principal has been invited numerous times by the Montana Family Foundation to testify before the Montana legislature in support of charter school legislation. This included a one-hour exclusive presentation to members of both xxxxxxxx as an expert. The Academy offered its entire high school core curriculum via the Idaho Education Network (IEN) in support of the state Superintendent’s initiatives and school choice. Academy students are allowed numerous dual enrollment and concurrent enrollment opportunities, including IDLA, IDEA, and North Idaho College.
