School Cancellations. (a) Up to the hour equivalent of four district-wide cancellation days per school year shall be paid to drivers by the District. Bus monitors shall be paid up to the hour equivalent of four district-wide cancellation days per school year.

The Board shall not be required to compensate teachers for days/hours made up, provided teachers were paid for the allocated five (5) days during the applicable pay period at the time of the school cancellations.

On days declared remote teaching days, teachers will conduct their classrooms virtually according to the guidelines provided by the administration. Additionally, teachers must provide opportunities for alternative credit for those students who are not able to access the class session due to technological barriers. Completed remote teaching days will preclude the implementation of the Board contingency plan to make up days beyond the five (5) calamity days. If remote teaching days are not permissible by law, the Board will implement its contingency plan for make-up days according to the Board approved calendar. The Board shall not be required to compensate teachers for days/hours made up, or conducted virtually, provided teachers were paid for the allocated five (5) days during the applicable pay period at the time of the school cancellations.
School Cancellations. If scheduled instructional days are cancelled due to inclement weather or other conditions which make it impractical to hold classes, full and part time employee’s will be compensated at their daily rate of pay for the first three (3) of these days that occur in the 2006-07 and 2007- 08 school years, and for the first four (4) of these days that occur for the 2008- 09 school year. All make up days will be without additional compensation, except for time card employees. Employees may be required to report for work on days when school is cancelled and will receive compensation, per this contract, for such additional time worked. In the event that during the life of this agreement, it becomes lawful for the purpose of state membership aid, to count as days of pupil instruction days when pupil instruction is not provided due to conditions not within the control of school authorities; such as, due to severe storms, fires, epidemics, bomb threats, bomb scares, or health conditions, it is agreed that the employees shall be excused from reporting to duty without loss of pay. Days lost due to school closings under this eventuality shall not be rescheduled, unless otherwise required by state law to qualify for state aid.

School Cancellations. The school will give a minimum of notice of 3 working days if they wish to cancel a session. • We require as much notice as reasonably possible in the event of a cancellation of appointments so that staff can reallocate other work and effectively manage their diaries. • We understand that there are times when children/young people may be unwell and suggest that schools/settings have alternative children/work available in these instances. If the school has not given the minimum amount of notice resulting the in EP losing time, that cannot be allocate elsewhere the session will be charged. • If there appears to be several instances where the school/setting has cancelled sessions the EP’s line manager may become involved in order to provide support for a solution to be reached.
