Common use of Scheduling of Work Clause in Contracts

Scheduling of Work. (1) Where practical, senior employees who are qualified shall be scheduled to receive the maximum number of available hours on the work schedule up to an eight (8) hour day, five (5) day, forty (40) hour week. Senior employees may not claim part of a shift and may claim shifts only when they become available on a regular basis. Split shifts shall be considered separate shifts for scheduling purposes. It is understood that employees shall not be permitted to establish their own work schedules nor shall they be permitted to work overtime without the specific approval of their Supervisor. Nothing herein shall be interpreted as a guarantee of a minimum number of hours or days of work.
