Eligibility for holidays listed below is first determined by counting the number of student contact days (normally 173), workshop day (normally 1), and extended days such as set up/training (Technology Associates = 3). Then the number of days is multiplied by the number of hours worked per day, this total number of hours determines the eligibility for holidays. An employee must use their floating holiday in each calendar year or it will be lost. Employees who terminate employment with the City and who have not used their floating holiday shall be paid the equivalent of one full day as holiday pay (prorated for part-time employees).
