Saved Holidays. 24 Saved Holidays may be accrued in lieu of observed holidays per the 25 specific provisions of this Article.

In the event of an employee’s 23 death, their heirs will receive payment for unused Saved Holiday time at the employee’s 24 regular rate of pay. 2

Saved Holidays. An employee required to work on a recognized holiday may elect to be compensated for such work by electing to convert the time and one-half (1‑1/2) pay Section 5 to an equal amount of Saved Holiday time. Saved Holiday time may be used at the discretion of the employee with the consent of his or her supervisor, and will be charged in accordance with Article 14, Section 7. Saved Holiday time not used by the end of the fiscal year in which it is accrued will be forfeited. Upon separation from service employees will be paid for unused Saved Holiday time at their regular rate of pay. In the event of an employee’s death, his or her heirs will receive payment for unused Saved Holiday time at the employee’s regular rate of pay.
Saved Holidays. Compensation for each paid day of holiday not taken is 4.6% of the current monthly salary and holiday supplement under Item 4.1. Holiday allowance for saved days of holiday is calculated as if the saved day was taken in the holiday year when the employment ceased. Regarding changed degree of employment – see Item 4:4.
Saved Holidays. Paid holiday that exceeds 20 days may be saved for no more than five years (does not apply to teachers with recess pay; see 5:1). The number of days of holiday saved may not at any one time exceed 25. The employer and the employee should agree on how saved holidays are to be taken. Saved days of holiday shall be taken in the order they have been saved. It is not possible to take saved days of holiday and save new ones in the same year.
