Saturday Hours. No employee will generally be required to work more than 25 Saturdays in any given calendar year. Where a Practice Support Employee or a Clinical Employee works on a Saturday, they will receive the relevant percentage of the Saturday Penalty rate under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award on their relevant rate in the Agreement.

If the Statutory holiday is taken on a day the Employee is scheduled to work, the employee will be paid for the hours he would have worked at the employees regular hourly rate. If the Employee is on the Weekend Schedule, the Employee will be allowed to work one shift through the week to make up the difference between this pay and their normal hours paid. Should a person be off on a Sunday or Saturday night due to sickness he will be allowed to work two eight (8) hour shifts through the week to make up the hours missed for Sunday or Saturday night. The above letter shall apply only during day per week x hour shift operations. In the event these operations are discontinued, the weekend maintenance schedule will be governed by the practice in effect during the Collective Agreement. Saturday Hours. Effective December 30, 2007, employees with shifts starting work on Saturdays shall be paid an additional $.50 per hour. Persons called to work on Saturdays for other than a complete shift will also receive an additional $.50 per hour. Each year hereafter, the amount will be adjusted by the percentage of wage increase negotiated, with the amount rounded off to the nearest full five (5) cents. Effective December 11, 2011, the amount will be $.50. Effective the last pay period of 2013 that amount shall increase to $.55.
