Safety Conditions and Practices. The Company and the Union agree that they mutually desire to maintain high standards of safety and health in order to prevent injury or illness. The Company supplies certain protective equipment, at no cost to the employee, such as eye xxxxxxx, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, hard hats and liners, barricades, road flares, etc., and it is a Company rule that such equipment shall be used by employees. Any suggestions by the employee or the Union involving safety equipment or safe work practice shall be given study and consideration by the Company. The Company agrees to fully acquaint all of its employees with safety protective equipment and its safety program. Any question arising under this Article may be discussed at any time between the Union and the Company, at the request of either party.

  • SAFETY CONDITIONS 1.0 The responsibility for providing for safe working conditions that are in conformance with applicable law and which are within fiscal constraints shall be the District’s. Employees shall be responsible for complying with safety procedures and practices and for reporting any unsafe condition, facility, or equipment of which he/she is aware. The District shall be responsible for informing employees of necessary safety procedures and practices. There shall be no reprisal against an employee for reporting any real or potentially unsafe condition, facility, or equipment.
