Sabbatical Leave Scheme. 5.12.1 A sabbatical leave scheme for principals will apply according to the following; From 2018 there will be up to 40 full-time equivalent sabbaticals awarded annually (Note this may result in sabbatical leave being awarded to more than 40 secondary principals during one school year). A full-time equivalent sabbatical will be of ten weeks duration paid at the rate of the principal’s normal pay. Principals may apply for ten-week, five week or three week sabbaticals; however, ten week sabbaticals will be allocated first. A ten week sabbatical may, with the board’s approval, be taken in two blocks during one school year. Each block must be whole weeks in duration and the smallest block must be for at least three weeks.
Sabbatical Leave Scheme. The parties agree that from the 2018 school year the number of sabbaticals awarded annually will reduce from 45 to 40 to support the reimbursement of approved costs associated with the work proposal for a sabbatical. The maximum total annual cost of any such reimbursements will be $200,000 and the maximum total reimbursement of costs for any one sabbatical shall be $5,000. Guidelines will be developed by the parties and NZSTA in accordance with clause 5.12.3 and clause 5.13 for the reimbursement of costs prior to applications being called for sabbaticals in the 2018 school year.   • Sabbatical Leaves 49. Members taking their first Sabbatical Leave after a probationary period at The University of Western Ontario shall receive 90.0% of their Base Salary; Members taking their second or subsequent Sabbatical Leave from The University of Western Ontario shall receive 85.0% of their Base Salary.

  • Sabbatical Leave The purpose of a sabbatical leave is to enhance professional development, support department/unit goals, and/or meet the instructional, service, or research priorities of the university.

  • Sabbatical Leave Committee Shall consist of the following:

  • Medical Leave of Absence Where you have a medical leave of absence due to any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than six months, and you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, a Separation from Service has occurred on the earlier of: (A) the first day on which you would not be considered “disabled” under any disability policy of the Company or Affiliate under which you are then receiving a benefit; or (B) the first day on which your medical leave of absence period exceeds 29 months.

  • Medical Leaves of Absence When recommended by an employee's personal physician in writing, a medical leave of absence for a three (3) month period will be granted by the Sheriff. Such leave may be extended for a like three (3) month period or shorter period, within the sole discretion of the Sheriff, up to a maximum of one (1) year. Such extension, if granted, shall be based upon the written certification by the employee's physician that the continued illness or disability precludes the employee from working and the continuation of the leave of absence is necessary. Such leave, up to a maximum of three (3) months, if granted, will be allowed and credited as continuous county service, i.e. seniority continues for the three (3) months only. The employee shall be entitled to his former position or a position for which he is able and capable of performing upon return to work. A medical leave of absence shall be without pay and other fringe benefits, except an employee may use his accumulated sick leave time and accumulated vacation time to avoid loss of wages during such leave.

  • Application for Sabbatical Leave 16.K.2.a. The application for sabbatical leave shall include a statement of the relationship between the proposed sabbatical activity(ies) and the applicant’s current or prospective service to the College and of the benefit(s) that the District shall accrue because of the leave.

  • Medical Leave Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Civil Service Rules, County Code, and other law, medical leaves of absence will be granted by the employee’s Department Head upon request only upon submission of a doctor’s certificate or other satisfactory medical evidence of the employee’s need for such leave.
