Sabbatical Leave Application. An employee must apply for the sabbatical leave in writing to the employee’s Department Head who shall respond to the request in writing by either approving or disapproving the leave. The decision of the Department Head is final, non-appealable, and non-grievable under this Memorandum any County policy, resolution or rule.

Sabbatical Leave Application. Applications for Sabbatical Leave shall be made to the Board of Trustees through the Superintendent. The application shall give evidence of satisfactory service, reasons for desiring leave, length of leave, signatures of approval, and any other data necessary to provide an adequate basis for granting such a leave. Any employee eligible for Sabbatical Leave shall make application at least 90 days prior to the beginning of the semester when such leave is desired. Applicants shall be notified no later than 45 days from the time a completed application is received.

Applicants shall be notified no later than 45 days before the end of the school year. Members can withdraw an application at any time prior to the start of the Sabbatical Leave without penalty.

  • Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness Leave a) Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness leaves granted to a permanent Teacher or long-term Occasional Teacher under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, as amended.

  • Medical Leaves of Absence When recommended by an employee's personal physician in writing, a medical leave of absence for a three (3) month period will be granted by the Sheriff. Such leave may be extended for a like three (3) month period or shorter period, within the sole discretion of the Sheriff, up to a maximum of one (1) year. Such extension, if granted, shall be based upon the written certification by the employee's physician that the continued illness or disability precludes the employee from working and the continuation of the leave of absence is necessary. Such leave, up to a maximum of three (3) months, if granted, will be allowed and credited as continuous county service, i.e. seniority continues for the three (3) months only. The employee shall be entitled to his former position or a position for which he is able and capable of performing upon return to work. A medical leave of absence shall be without pay and other fringe benefits, except an employee may use his accumulated sick leave time and accumulated vacation time to avoid loss of wages during such leave.

  • Maternity Adoption and Parental Leave The following in part reflects the provisions of the Employment Standards Act on these matters. In all cases of dispute, and where the Act as amended from time to time is superior, the provisions of the Act will prevail.
