Common use of Right to Stop Work Clause in Contracts

Right to Stop Work. A. If the Contractor fails to correct defective Work as required, or fails to carry out the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents, the City by written notice, may order the Contractor to stop the Work or any portion of the Work, until the cause for the order has been eliminated to the satisfaction of the City.

A. 6.2.1 If the Contractor persistently fails or refuses to correct defective Work as required, or fails to carry out perform the Work in accordance with the Contract Documentsthis Contract, the City by written notice, may order the Contractor to stop the Work Work, or any described portion of the Workthereof, until the cause for the order stoppage has been eliminated to corrected no longer exists, or the satisfaction of City orders that Work be resumed.
