Review of Shop Drawings. The Contractor (or Subcontractor or equipment supplier acting on behalf of the Contractor) shall submit to the Contract Administrator in accordance with a procedure to be stipulated by the Contract Administrator all shop, working or setting drawings required in order to make clear the work proposed. The Contractor shall make any changes in such drawings that the Contract Administrator may require. When submitting such drawings, the Contractor shall notify the Contract Administrator in writing of all respects in which such drawings differ from the requirements of the Contract or from previously notified requirements of the Contract Administrator. The Contract Administrator’s review of such drawings shall not be construed as approval of such differences unless the Contractor has complied with the preceding sentence hereof and unless the Contract Administrator has specifically approved such differences in writing. The Contract Administrator’s review of such drawings shall not relieve the Contractor from responsibility for the correctness of the drawings or the adequacy of the details shown on the drawings. Work shall not be carried out before the Contract Administrator’s review of the shop, working or setting drawings relating to such work has been carried out.

Review of Shop Drawings. Shop drawings are received from, and returned to, only the general contractor on the work (or to the client, if required by our client contract). A shop drawing log is maintained for all construction projects. Shop drawings are reviewed against the following: • Calculations; • Plans and specifications; and • Any addenda or change orders. The individual who is the most familiar with the design should review shop drawings. The initial reviewer marks those items he has checked and agrees with and identifies those items that may require correction. He initials and dates the review print. The iFlorida Program Quality Control Plan Version 1 marked-up prints are reviewed by the lead technical professional or other designated quality control reviewer who, once satisfied, directs that the remaining copies of the shop drawing be stamped and appropriate comments be added in red. Shop drawings are initialed and dated, before return to the contractor, by a professional who is licensed to practice in the state in which the work is to be performed, usually the lead technical professional on that aspect of the design.
