Returns from Leave a) Upon returning from leaves under: Clause 7.10 – Union Leave; Clause 7.11 – Political Leave; Clause 7.12 – Educational Leave; Clause 7.13 – Reserve Service; Clause 7.14 – General Leave; the employees shall be returned to the position previously held. Should that position be no longer in existence the employee will exercise the bumping procedure under Clause 17.05 – Bumping.

Returns from Leave. Every effort will be made to return the employee as nearly as possible to the position which said employee held when the employee left. The teacher's year(s) of service in the district, contract status, and accumulated sick leave will be the same when the teacher returns to the position as it was when he / she began unpaid leave. However, when an employee works a minimum of 93 school days (including paid leave) in the school year that the leave began and returns to work in a different school year, upon return to work, they shall receive credit for the year of service they went on leave.

  • Returning from Leave Employees returning early from leave of absence must submit a request to return to work in writing. Employees returning from a medical leave of absence may be required to certify their ability to return to work at least five (5) working days prior to the requested date of the return. Employees returning early from leave must wait for the next available job opening. Employees returning on the planned date will be placed in the position they left, or an equivalent position.

  • Return from Leave An employee on maternity or parental leave pursuant to Articles 20.1 and 20.2 shall provide the Employer with at least one (1) month’s written notice. On return from leave, an employee shall be placed in her former position or where the position no longer exists in a position of equal rank and basic pay.

  • ABSENCE FROM WORK AND REPORTING 17.01 If an employee is unable to report for work, he/she shall give the Employer a minimum of four (4) hours notice. In case of day shift work, this time element shall be one (1) hour. If notice is not given within the required time, the employee shall not be entitled to his/her sick pay on the first day of illness.

  • Reinstatement from Leave Upon completion of a leave of absence, the employee is to be returned to the position formerly occupied, or to a similar position if the employee's former position no longer exists. Any replacement in the position while an employee is on leave is to be on a temporary basis.

  • Deductions from Sick Leave A deduction shall be made from accumulated sick leave of all normal working days (exclusive of holidays) absent for sick leave.

  • Recall from Layoff Full-time and regular part-time nurses shall be recalled in the order of seniority unless otherwise agreed between the Hospital and the local Union, subject to the following provisions, provided that a nurse recalled is qualified to perform the available work:

  • Early Return From Leave If the amount of leave needed is actually less than initially requested, the employee must notify the District of such an occurrence. Once the employee provides such notification, the District must reinstate the employee to the same or equivalent position within two (2) days.
