Returning Employee. An employee whose employment with the District terminates for reasons other than just cause, and who is subsequently rehired by the District shall be compensated at the base pay plus up to five years experience for previous employment with the District. Such employee shall, nevertheless, be subject to the probationary period for new employees, except that as to such employee Article 18 pertains to the grievance procedure.

Returning Employee. A former employee who returns to employment in a unit position will be credited for previous time served and will accrue benefits at the level associated with their time served for purposes of Articles 10 (Hiring) and 13 (Reduction in Force).
Returning Employee. A former employee who returns to employment in a bargaining unit position will be credited for previous time served but not for their absence, and will accrue benefits at the level associated with their time served. Their seniority date will be adjusted to reflect time served without absences.
